Just back from Zakopane and stayed in Stala Polana for a week. Great value for money. Clean, attractive and reasonable location (not far from main street). Staff are generally easy to engage with but not incredibly helpful. Breakfast is included. Kitchen area is very clean with cute dining area. Good atmosphere overall and I recommend this for any traveller.

Me and my friend opted for the cheap option when travelling to Zakopane so went for a mixed dorm. The hostel was clean and the beds were comfortable, all you expect really from a hostel. Only slight complaint was that the room was really really warm due to the heating being turned up full. Other than that we had a... More

we stayed in Zakopane for 3 nights in the southern part of Poland. The hotel was built over 100 years old and renovated. most of it was made of wood. our room was a little small but it was enough to accommodate us for those 3 nights. breakfast was provided. it was within walking distance of the walking street and... I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived. The place had a quaint vibe. Not a party hostel. The floors creek and the doors like to be open but that adds to the nostalgia. The attendees are very helpful and friendly. Breakfast and towels are free, and the bathrooms are spacious. My dog Nefertiny was welcomed in a private room. The... More

I really loved the place. The price, the breakfast, the area, the atmosphere - everything. My only teensy complaint would be that the wifi signal was very low in our room, and I couldn't connect. However in a place like Zakopane, the last thing you should do is go online!

price/quality = average. Next time i will not choose this hostel, because of the ratio. Breakfast which is included in the price is very low budget. There is no warm water in the private bath in the evening and the whole room gives really hostel feeling back. I'm sure that better accommodation can be founded for the same price. But... More

I had a really good time in Hostel Stara Polana. Zakopane is a town with so many fancy traditional houses that nothing is better than staying in one of them. This atmosphere is provided by the Hostel and if the booked room is the private room for 2, you can enjoy a cool room with a kitchen inside. I didn't... More

Our stay at Hostel Stara Polana was really good. We expected far less, because it's not really expensive and it's a hostel. But: the hostel was a nice wooden house, the (bunk) beds were good, the receptionists were nice and helpful and there was a special locked room for our skis. The hostel is not on the best location, but... More

I spent 3 nights in this hostel after NYE. I was in the room 13, a 8 people dorm. I really liked my stay and the house is one of those traditional wodden house that Zakopane is full of. The only problem is that there are only 3 bathroom (2 showers), so if the hostel is full you have to... More

Stara Polana is unbelievable value, especially with the included breakfast. We had a double en-suite room by the side entrance which has been turned into a smoking room, which is still allowed in Poland, and the smell did get into our little hall a bit but we kept the door to the bedroom closed and that kept it out of...
