Located a couple of miles up a road in a forest between Tychy and Kobior by A1 but be careful if driving from the North as you could miss the sign and have to drive on until the village before you can turn around. Don’t be put off by the armed guard on the gate as I think some important business meetings take place here. Not for the faint hearted as this 19th century building was a hunting lodge for the aristocracy. The walls of the hall and staircase are covered in animal heads (mainly African trophies) whilst the dining rooms are lined with the skulls and antlers of those who lost their lives in the local forest no doubt. Rooms are furnished with genuine antiques and some furnishings are a little grubby which is not what you expect when paying these kinds of prices (about £100 for B and B for two) but when you go to bed all is quiet and you hear birdsong when you wake.
