If you are planning a few days break in the lovely city of Krakow you should consider slaying in the Jewish Quarter. Hotel Karmel is a small friendly and place to stay Rooms are clean and spacious. Very nice property. Rooms were clean and comfortable- though ours was quite small. The staff was very friendly and helpful. There were a lot of steps- though the staff was helpful at carrying suitcases up. The Internet did not work in my top floor room which was very inconvenient. Staff tried hard to fix it- but without success. Had to... More

If you dont like big corporate hotels this is the one for you. A small friendly, clean hotel in the middle of the Jewish quarter with an easy walk into the old town. Breakfast was great and good value in a lovely environment. The restaurant attached to the hotel was also worth a visit.

What a lovely surprise, the room was spacious, spotless and warm. The staff were so friendly and the breakfast was lovely, very nice coffee and you can order omlettes and scrambled eggs with bacon sausage or Ham. Several lovely bars within just a few meters of the hotel. The restaurant 'Pesto' within the hotel is fantastic, I will be writing... More

This hotel, in the middle of Kazimierz, is small and charming. The rooms have high ceilings, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are modern, with glassed-in showers. The receptionists were very helpful. There's a restaurant downstairs, and lots of cafes around the corner. On the downside, there is no elevator (even the reception is up a flight of stairs), and... This is a charming hotel, still a bit "old world". Our room and bathroom were spotless, beds were comfortable., and the staff was very gracious. Pesto, the restaurant in the hotel, was excellent and there were several other good eating options within several blocks. It's in the heart of Kazimierz - so quite a bit to see and do in... More

The location is perfect - in the center of Kazimierz area in Krakow. The hotel itself has not been renovated since the 80ties or at least the person responsible for redesign was addicted to the 80ties style. It doesn't mean it's not clean or fresh - it's just the design. When I saw the room I regretted the mony i... More

Excellent hotel, clean, very well maintained, quiet, staff unobtrusive and courteous. I was a bit worried because there was no in room safe or a lift. I was also a little worried about all the wood (would it look dated?). We struggled to find a 'modern' hotel that had a lot of good reviews about cleanliness. Most hotels in Krakow... More

Impeccable accommodations including air conditioning, superb breakfast offerings, friendly, service-oriented staff, free WiFi, a scant 15-minute walk to Wawel Castle and 20 minutes to Market Square. The restaurants attached to the hotel are also wonderful options (a huge benefit if the weather happens to be uncooperative).

Last December we visited Hotel Karmel for the second time. The hotel with it's beautiful facade is located in Kazimierz (the former Jewish quarter) and it's about a 15 minutes walk from Rynek Glowny, the square in the old town. Kazimierz is a lovely area both day and night. In the night there are several bars, playing great music, full... More
