A quality little B&B which can teach some of the big chain hotels a thing or two about service and quality. Bigs beds, decent selction on the telly for those crashout, post exploration evenings and a hearty breakfast served with a smile. It might sit alongside the main road out of Gdansk but a golden silence every night and the... more

I stayed at Villa Akme for 2 nights 23 and 24 June. What a great little find! It wasdelightful. Very friendly helpful staff and they speak some English. The owner even let me use her computer at reception to check my emails. Never been offered that before. Very clean rooms - there seems to be an army of chambermaids for... more

Nice guest house in Gdansk, it is not located in the center but you can get there by public transport and taxi for about 10-15 PLN. Prices are reasonable, the service is friendly and there's breakfast included (bread, cheese, ham, jam, coffee, tea, yoghurt, juice). more

We first stayed at the Akme in April 2004 and each time we have been back to Gdansk, this has been our first choice for accommodation. Our hosts have always been very helpful, even to the extent of writing out instructions in Polish for us to hand to ticket sellers at tram and railway stations. The No1 trams make getting... more

Although my accommodation (room 1) was smallish it was extremely well-fitted with top-quality furniture, decorations, fixtures and fittings, giving the look and feel of a five star luxury hotel. It was actually two rooms separated by an archway, plus a spacious ensuite. The bed was extremely comfortable. The view out of the window was of scaffolding and building equipment, for... more

I booked this via the internet in June and was advised that confirmation would be required 7 days prior to arrival or else they would let the room go. 10 days prior to our arrival I emailed them confirming the booking and received a reply both via email tagging and by the proprieter "looking forward to seeing us" On arrival... more

The Villa Akme is situated within a residential area of the City with mainly communist style high rise blocks of flats around. There are several shops in the area. The Villa has an 'Austrian' type style and rooms are very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well appointed. There is a newly built breakfast room which serves buffet style breakfast's with freshly... more

A small family owned and run hotel outside the center of Gdansk. The price was great, the family who runs it were extremely friendly and spoke enough English to get by. The locaton is less than ideal because you have to drive, taxi, or take public transit to the old town area, but that's not a big deal given the... more
