Not the easiest place to find but then nothing in Prague is so definitely bring a map/google it! It's 5 mins from the centre of the Old Town and is in walking distance of all the major attractions. Everyone there was really friendly although do expect to see some lad's/contiki tours passing through so not great if you want a... More

This hostel is great. Great location, great facilities and great service. Rooms are impeccable, CLEAN bathrooms on each floor, central location (10 minutes from old town square and 10 min for Prague's principal train station), and the best of all: you have free breakfast with a very decent sandwich included. The only inconvenient is that they DO NOT accept cards... More

In the heart of Prague you'll find Old Prague Hostel. The hostel is an old apartment building and is 5 stories tall. The front desk was very helpful and they where fluent in English. You get free breakfast - bagel with ham and cheese or an vegetarian option. Coco puffs and/or cornflakes as well. Free wifi and 3 Internet computers... More

The location is excellent; it's within walking distance of practically everything you want to see. The staff is friendly but not overly so. They provide towels but try to get one quickly because some are very small and more suited for children than adults. Breakfast isn't great. They provide you with a sandwich and there are a couple types of... More

Old Prague Hostel is walking distance to everything you'll want to see when in Prague. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is clean enough, but they definitely need some more bathrooms/showers near the rooms, because 1 toilet shared with an entire floor of people was not enough. The breakfast was kinda gross and not much to choose from,... More

Stayed here when inter-railing around Europe and it was up there with the better hostels. Its biggest positive is definitely its location - within walking distance to everything. The rooms are good and the place is clean. We stayed for 2 nights and we did have to move room for the second night which was not a problem but it... More

The location is good, it was relatively clean. However, breakfast was a complete joke, the internet barely worked, online they said they had parking but on arrival they sent us to a parking garage that ended up costing more than the hostel did, the staff was not very helpful at check in concerning things to do/see, we came back to... My friends and I backpacked for 2 months around Europe, and this was by far our favorite hostel. It is located within walking distance of everything (all the historical sites, museums, bars, restaurants, and train station). It is extremely clean. They don't make you pay for towels, linens, breakfast, keys, etc *which a lot of hostels do*. The staff is... More

I stayed at Old Prague Hostel for 2 nights in an 8 bed dorm. I wandered around a little to find the place, but the detailed directions provided in my confirmation email helped me find the hostel. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful and they provided everything needed for the stay including breakfast, towels, linens, lockers (with built... More

We stayed here on Jan 1-2, 2011. The entire experience kicked off poorly. I had reserved an 8-bed dorm for my party (or at least, had reserved 8 beds in an 8-bed dorm....) about two months in advance, but when we showed up, they had lost the reservation and claimed it wasn't in the system. Having printed the confirmation beforehand... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
