The hotel wiew was beautyfull, bed was exellent, room was small, but nice and clean. Only minus comes from breakfast. They did not have gluteinfree bred on breakfast allthough I told about my allergi when I booked hotel. Explanation why not was, that the cheff does not want to take a risk by offering gluteinfree, because he is not sure if... More

What a beutiful idea! Service was invisible, room just got cleaned, when you were'nt looking at it, linen was changed every day, front desk was very helpful and always there. Rooms were spacious, given that we were really in a boat. Do demand a wiev to the river though. Attached to Matylda is Klotylda, another boat with a perfect kitcen... More

I was here for a cake and a coffee. Is a wonderful restaurant, serving excellent, warm and pleasant environment to enjoy a meal or a drink. Is a romantic place for couples. Is definitely a different experience. I'll come back for sure and maybe I'll check in here.

Fantastic stay. We stayed in an executive double room. Very relaxing. We arrived in a snowstorm but our cabins were very warm. Great experience. Fantastic to watch the swans go by. Very close to city centre. 2 bridges away from Charles Bridge so everything is within walking distance. Only drawback was the lack of tea making facilities in our room.... More

A very different experience than staying in a regular hotel. staff where helpful and rooms where clean. Breakfast was included which was a good deal. Most important was how awesome Prague is. Location is good but there are much better locations. I would definitely recommend it for a change. couples would enjoy it.

Beautiful hotel experience, such a different stay than a normal hotel, very quirky and picturesque. Restaurant was top quality and by far the best meal we had in Prague! The only slight problem we had is the single bed cover issue... if you have a double bed then you have double sheets/blanket/quilts but they only have singles?? Hotel was always... More

Having had a great experience here before a number of years ago, my wife and i decided to re-book this hotel for our latest trip to Prague. The quality and value for money was still there and the restaurant was just as good as we remembered. The only negative thing was the acoutics as the sound of people walking about... More

We stayed for a long weekend in December and had a lovely time. The Hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful and friendly. The location is great with just a ten to fifteen minute walk to the Old Square. You can walk along the river to Marches Bridge and then turn left and through the cobbled streets to... More

What an absolute gem! Our friends had stayed here before and now won't stay anywhere else and I see why. The location is excellent - reasonably central for getting around Prague. It's quiet (we had a river view room) and the food, was excellent. We had continental breakfast - plenty of choice. We also enjoyed an early dinner before our... More

Very quiet location - a boat moored at the eastern side of the Vltava river. Still, trams stop is a stone's throw away (tram #17 is very useful) and the nearest Metro is just some five minutes' walk - important, since public transport is the best way to move around in Prague. Still, 'Boatel' Matylda is within easy walking distance... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
