We were here for a short romantic break, and totally loved the stay at this hotel! The speciality if this place is it has fresh-looking medieval features on the exterior, and cozy modern ambience in the interiors! High-roofed castle like rooms are converted into smart accommodation. Our room had a beautiful backyard with coffee-table and chairs, and foliage, but we... More

My wife and I recently returned from a trip to Prague, during which we stayed at Residence Monastery for three nights. The immediate location around the hotel is very cool, it's an old monastery and the hotel forms part of the courtyard area, but there's also a beautiful church which was started in 1140, a brewery (with a restaurant which... This converted monastery is still operating as a monastery in some parts and you are not allowed to go in there but you can go into the brewery to sample there excellent beer and food. The location is very close to the castle and right on the hop hop off bus route. Recommend the upgraded room it is a good... More

Very original hotel in old converted monastery building. I would guess no 2 rooms are the same. Ours was on the top floor, so basically an attic room. It was split level with the bed in the upper part under the eaves and the bathroom on the lower level. Great view of the city from the very small windows. Room... More

We were driving from Cesky Krumlov (rental car) and it was easy to find. Easy to get into the quiet grounds and very friendly staff. Loved our room which had a great view down the hill (& of the architecture of the monastery)overlooking Prague and they upgraded us when a larger room at the end of the hallway on the... More

Beautiful historic hotel overlooking Prague. After all the hustle and bustle of the city centre it was a delight to return to this tranquil spot. Although it's a good walk up the hill from the city centre, it's ideal for burning off the goulash and dumplings.

Definitely, the best thing about this hotel is the location. Situated on the grounds of Strahov monastery, you don't have any traffic in front of your windows. Travellers arriving by car: don't hesitate to drive right through the gate of the Strahov monastery! The bollard will be lowered after ringing the bell (right hand side) so that you can pass.... I have stayed in over 10 properties in Prague, and of all of them (even stays for double the price) this was my favourite and I was already planning my next visit as I departed. There are so many things to recommend this hotel, but at the forefront is the exceptional receptionist, Andrea, who went way above the call of... More

We stayed at the hotel for 5 days in july. The rooms are quite large with a really comfortable bed, nice bathroom including a bath, tea and coffee making and a tv. The only criticism we had was the fact that the storage space is very small, If you took lots of clothes most would have to stay in your... More

My wife & I plus another couple stayed 2 nights in this wonderful small hotel. It is ideally located near to Prague Castle and has fantastic views over the Old Town. The rooms are small but comfortable; no air-con but wasn't needed. The nearby brewery and restaurant are an added bonus. Free Wi-Fi works well. Breakfast choice is excellent. Highly... More
