I was looking for a peaceful place that is comfortable, safe, wellconnected with public transport in the four star range. Residence Monastery has lived up to that expectation. Previous reviews and tips on tripadvisor were spot on. Thank you fellow reviewers. I called a day in advance of arrival, which was very helpful. Andrea who is at the reception gave... More

This is a beautiful place to stay, the hotel has an amzing location, seems to be in a fairy tale. Hotel in charge Andrea is way more helpful than we could even demand. Rooms are super spacious and luxurious. Cleanliness is excellent. Special thanks to Andrea for making this trip so special and comfortable.

I always stay here when I visit Prague. You can't beat the price, and proximity to Prague sites (only 5 minute walk to Prague castle). The staff could not be more friendly, and the breakfast buffet is excellent. The rooms are large, clean, and modern.

We arrived at the hotel very late (after midnight) and the setting was absolutely breathtaking. It was like walking onto a film set. The photo really doesn't do it justice. The rooms were comfortable and very clean. Our 3 sons were in the 'loft' room and loved it, very quirky. The whole atmosphere of the hotel was calm and peaceful,... More

My partner and I have just returned from a 4 day break in Prague. We stayed at the Hotel Monastery - fantastic - would definitely recommend the city and this hotel. Hotel - spotlessly clean, fantastic rooms - we were upgraded to a superior on arrival but given the choice of the room we booked if we preferred. Breakfast was... More

What an amazing place! This was exactly what we were looking for coming from Miami, Florida. Cold weather, great place, beautiful building and very well preserved. Hotel staff was outstanding, especially Andrea, the front desk attendant. She made such a big difference in our stay, very knowledgeable about the whole city and surrounding areas. It was great to meet you... More

We had a lovely 5-night stay at Residence Monastery for Christmas. The property is beautiful and it is possible to go for a lovely stroll in the adjacent park or visit the monastery church and library, which is the most gorgeous I've ever seen. There is quite a steep hill leading down to the Charles Bridge, it is a nice... More

We second all the good reviews here - unique location within the grounds of the Strahov monastery high on the hill above the city and just above the castle, this is an ancient building sympathetically used as a hotel with excellent service, neat comfortable rooms and very friendly staff. On site are historic monuments - a picture gallery , ancient... More

If you want somewhere that has stunning views of Prague from your bedroom, is close to major attractions ( the hotel is in the monastary complex and the castle a 15 min walk ), and easy access to to the city centre. Then chose this hotel! If you want peace and quiet ( except church bells from time to time... More

Monastery hotel is peacefull and personal butique hotel located in church courtyard not far from the most famous tourist attractions but just enough far for relaxing stay. Tram stop is right next to the door as well as cheap 7-eleven-kind of store. The standard room was very tidy and well equipt. Breakfast was perfect and included also sparkling wine everyday.... Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
