Sometimes Trip Advisor falls short - if you just look at the rankings here on Trip Advisor you'd probably miss this gem of a hotel located 10 minutes (uphill!) walk from the Cathedral and Castle, and just a quick walk to the Charles Bridge. On our April visit, Prague was already overrun with tourists, so I can't imagine what the... More

This was a lovely stay in a great city. The hotel is perfectly situated away from the madding crowds but only a few minutes walk if you want that. It was a minutes walk from Kampa Park, alongside the river, which was an oasis of calm in a busy city. Two or three minutes from the Charles Bridge and the... More

loved every moment of the hotel as standards were definitely at par with the reputation of the mandarin oriental name. away from the hustle-bustle of the old town, and a few minutes walk to the castle, the hotel is situated in a great location. there is no view of the Vltava River but by simply walking 5 minutes you are... The hotel is beautiful, well-run, and in a great location. It is the perfect place to stay when visiting Prague. The concierge arranged great tours, recommended good restaurants, and sent us to hear great music (jazz and classical). The hotel has a boutique feel to it, with first class features like an amazing spa with a very interesting history.

Fabulous hotel in beautiful location only surpassed by the wonderful staff. Our suite (117) was like living in a Palace and the bed was the best we've had in Europe. The location is great, just 2 minute walk to Charles Bridge and many restaurants close by. The Internet is not complimentary but very high speed, so not a problem. The... More

The location of this hotel cannot be beaten - 5 mins walk (if that) to the Charles Bridge, 2 mins walk to John Lennon wall and plenty of nice bars and restaurants close by. Despite it's close proximity to many sights it is in a quiet and secluded part of town away from the hubbub of Charles Bridge and the... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
