Not too much more to add to support everything everyone has said about this excellent hotel. But for those who like me may be put off by comments about the hill back up to the hotel, there is a bus that goes ftom the square up the hill and will drop you off 2 minutes away! A great relief after... More

This is a nice a hotel located on a quiet street. It is near Prague Castle, it is just up the street from the German and American embassies. It is an easy walk (10 min) to the Charles Bridge. And across the bridge to the Old Town. We arranged for a driver to pick us up at the main train station.... More

There were 4 of us staying over Christmas. We booked the largest apartment, with 2 bedrooms, each with its own bathroom. Top floor location, beautiful old wooden beams throughout, plenty of space. Efficient and attentive staff at the desk. Excellent breakfast in a splendid restaurant. Outstanding room cleaning and amenities that include a stove and an espresso maker. Very comfortable,... This is our second visit to the Appia in 2015 and once again a fabulous visit! The staff, rooms, breakfast and service are all top notch. The location is near the castle in a quiet part of the city but close enough to walk down to the more vibrant night life in just a few short minutes. Great family stay... More

Having read previous reviews, we decided that this was the hotel we wanted to stay in for a 3-night break before Christmas...and I can assure you that not even the highly rated reviews do it justice! From the emails before we arrived arranging airport transfers to the time we checked out after our stay, the staff were exceptional. Their friendly... More

Went with high expectations, based on the previous reviews, and are very happy to report that things were up to standard. The location works well if you fancy a walk in to the main area of the city - we really enjoyed stretching our legs and making the most of the steep walk back (there are no hills in Dubai!).... We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Appia. I cannot rate either the staff or the room highly enough. The room that we were given was superb - the bedroom was very large, with a sofa, desk, chest of drawers, wardrobe and safe, as well as free wifi with a dedicated router. There was a separate dining... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
