We stayed 3 days and in the evening of the first one, the room had not been made. The reception told us that the maid comes every second day! Apparently this was mentioned on the reservation paperwork...not on ours...So your chances to sleep in someone else's bed linen the day you arrive are very high! You will then also have... More

When we come back again in Praga, we'll absolutely come back to this hotel: very tipycal building with so nice rooms. Our room was very nice and simple. They clean the room every two days, but if you are clean person it's enough! The position it's perfect to get the center in 10 minuts by foot or less by bus... More

If you are traveling with low budget this is your place. Located near Dancing Building, near metro station Karlovo náměstí. This hotel is located in New Town but is just a 10-15 minute walk from Old Town - where most the tourist attractions are. Few local cheap restaurants nearby. So we didn`t try Breakfast inside Guest House that cost 4.5... More

This place is anything but good! You can never find this place from the first time! We had to go back and forth in the same street to find this place! There are no sighs or building number..! The walls are thin as paper, you can hear everything from the rooms next to you (it is not that nice when... More

If you are traveling with low budget this is your place. Is a HOTEL, no hostel, which is the best. Me and my friends stayed here, the room had 2 single beds and one BIG bed, total 4 people but more people would fit there without a problem. The staff at the night was son kind and so comprehensible. They... More

Pros: good location The only good thing with this accommodation is location. Really central and good area. But the rest is just negative. Staff was quite unpleasant and unhelpful. During our stay there was only one man who was quite nice, everyone else in the reception was not. We have booked double rooms with two separate beds, the price 72EUR... More

It has everything a hotel needs, clean sheets, clean towels, hot water, and proximal location. It was easy to ask people for directions till we became acquainted with Prague, we just asked for directions to Dancing House (one block away) and one block from the metro station too. This hotel is located in New Town but is just a 10-15... More

We stayed at Hotel Merlin for 5 days, 2 adult and a 3 year old child. Room was cleaned very bad when we arrived. We have a 3 year old boy and sometimes when you have so small child you maybe need to change bed clothes. When we asked for extra bed clothes they had no extra, it took 8... More

Is ok for the price and location! Positive: close to the center, has a nice view if you are at the right side of the building, price is also fine. Negative: bathroom smelled like hell the first day, was probably not well cleaned or used before. We had to flush everything for half an hour to get rid of the... More

Stayed for a week on a work/pleasure trip. The location was amazing--immediately across from the Dancing House and the Vltava and easy access to tram and metro. The room was ok. Nicely appointed, but clearly Ikea and quickly showing age. The basement pub was a bit overpriced and left a smoky smell on weekends, but was convenient. The Vietnamese restaurant... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
