Had a great experience at the Grand Hotel Praha last week! We stayed in Room 213 which was just lovely and had a bird's-eye view of the Astronomical Clock and the Old Town Square. The hotel is very "old world", which was delightful - very well appointed room and bathroom, great personal service, and in the perfect location for exploring... More

The hotel was great overall. I liked the room, decoration, cleanliness, location and the breakfast. But good lord, the square which the hotel faces is extremely noisy. I understand that it is the Times Square of Prague but this should not be a excuse for lack of double glazed windows. The window was covered with double panes, one inner and... More

Dear Sir/Madam, thank you, for your lovely respond to our accommodation and I am very glad to read, that you have enjoyed your stay with us, however I would just like to comment on your comment about double glaze windows, which is not true, all our windows are double glaze, to prevent the noise from the busy Square. I am... More

I had opted for the deluxe room and wasn't disappointed. Overlooking the square and right in front of the astronomical clock. Far better way to see it than from below! Very comfortable bed, excellent bathroom with steam free mirror and nice toiletries. Loved the old furniture, even the creaky wardrobe door.. Not the quietest of spots as the square is... More

Stayed five nights in this hotel in March 2015. Its a lovely old building - nice old fashioned grandeur which I love. Very helpful staff - warm comfortable Grand Deluxe room - yummy breakfast with cakes to die for BUT - The most amazing thing was the view from our bedroom window. It was simply splendid - Overlooked the astronomical... More

This hotel's location is perfect. It's directly on the old town square across from the astronomical clock. The service was outstanding. The hotel is decorated with historic art and antiques. Really gives you the feel of an old world hotel. We were able to arrange a car to pick us up at the airport (taxi drivers in Prague are not... More

Directly opposite the famous clock in the square you will find this charming hotel! All the staff are super friendly and knowledgeable and nothing is too much trouble. The rooms were very comfortable and the decor is just amazing. Breakfast was delicious with a big variety! They even organised a private transfer to the airport and carried our luggage to... More

Arrived in Old Town gobsmacked by the beautiful buildings and surroundings, only to find out our Hotel was a part of one of the beautiful buildings. Welcomed by warm reception staff, speaking great English who had upgraded us to a room with view.... had an early flight into Prague however we were allowed to drop our bags into our room... More

Stayed at this hotel for 5 days in Febuary 2015, All reception staff on arrival and throughout our stay were excellent, we were in the annex to the main building which was a bit of a maze to find our room, however this is the only slight negative I can think of. The rooms were very big with huge beds,... More

fantastic hotel in an amazing, central location. We loved our 'antique' room which was perfect for what we needed. One negative was the walk to our room-but the room made up for that. Very pleasant and polite reception staff. Very helpful. The room had everything you need but no kettle. A little disappointed that we could have had breakfast in... More

Very well located but a little bit noisy. And a free LIMITED wifi. I warmly recommend this hotel for a short city trip but the bad wifi is for me a problem for a business trip. It is a little bit noisy but it is not a suprise when you choose the hotel close to an astronomical clock.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
