too expensive for what you get. Staff is mainly unhappy people who treat you like you are bothering them. The concierges try to sell you there service (taxi, sightseeing, tickets) for much higher prices than outside. i wont book here again

We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Grand Hotel Praha. The rooms are fabulous. The staff attentive, helpful and friendly. Breakfast, delicious. Hana at the front desk was brilliant in helping us when we needed help. Couldn't recommend The Grand Hotel strongly enough.

An unbelievable hotel located in the main old town square right across from the Astronomical Clock. Close to all sights and all restaurants. The rooms are quaint and located in an old renovated building with a lot of charm. Breakfast is very good with many choices even for vegans with a great view of the old town square.

Recently (March ’15), my wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel Praha. It was our first time in Prague and the staff at the GHP did everything they could to make us welcomed and comfortable. Our room was directly across from the astronomical clock and we had a beautiful full view of the Old Town Square. Breakfast, was very... More

One of the best steaks I have ever eaten! We had a T-Bone for 2 and it was huge and perfectly cooked. Fantastic outdoor location looking out over the old town square. Would definitely recommend it to anyone

Had a great experience at the Grand Hotel Praha last week! We stayed in Room 213 which was just lovely and had a bird's-eye view of the Astronomical Clock and the Old Town Square. The hotel is very "old world", which was delightful - very well appointed room and bathroom, great personal service, and in the perfect location for exploring... More

The hotel was great overall. I liked the room, decoration, cleanliness, location and the breakfast. But good lord, the square which the hotel faces is extremely noisy. I understand that it is the Times Square of Prague but this should not be a excuse for lack of double glazed windows. The window was covered with double panes, one inner and... More

Dear Sir/Madam, thank you, for your lovely respond to our accommodation and I am very glad to read, that you have enjoyed your stay with us, however I would just like to comment on your comment about double glaze windows, which is not true, all our windows are double glaze, to prevent the noise from the busy Square. I am... More

I had opted for the deluxe room and wasn't disappointed. Overlooking the square and right in front of the astronomical clock. Far better way to see it than from below! Very comfortable bed, excellent bathroom with steam free mirror and nice toiletries. Loved the old furniture, even the creaky wardrobe door.. Not the quietest of spots as the square is... More

Stayed five nights in this hotel in March 2015. Its a lovely old building - nice old fashioned grandeur which I love. Very helpful staff - warm comfortable Grand Deluxe room - yummy breakfast with cakes to die for BUT - The most amazing thing was the view from our bedroom window. It was simply splendid - Overlooked the astronomical... More

This hotel's location is perfect. It's directly on the old town square across from the astronomical clock. The service was outstanding. The hotel is decorated with historic art and antiques. Really gives you the feel of an old world hotel. We were able to arrange a car to pick us up at the airport (taxi drivers in Prague are not... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
