We were warmly welcomed and offered a glass of sparkling wine on arrival at this pretty hotel in Prague. It's positioned well, with a short pleasant stroll over Charles Bridge to the Old Town and a short walk up to the Castle. Quiet in our room, with a comfortable bed. Breakfast was fine too, in a lovely dining room but... More

Recommended by friends, we booked there 3 nights. We booked the hotel car for airport transport. Strongly recommended as taxis are not very reliable. The hotel is in the central in front of the american embassy, means not that much traffic and every car is checked and a very safe neighbourhood. Hotel is very cozy and warm. The decoration must... My wife and I celebrated our 4th wedding anniversary here. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were blown away by its sheer beauty. Dating from 1591, it feels like stepping into a different era and is quite simply breathtaking. We stayed in a junior suite, which was enormous and beautifully decorated. The service and attention to detail... More

a superb boutique hotel. As others say ideally positioned for the castle or the winter markets. Staff superb too, friendly, helpful and professional. Excellent spa and restaurant too. The touches are all there for a splendid stay. We even had the suite in the picture!

If you want pure luxury and impeccable service the Alchymist is your hotel of choice in Prague. Located up a quiet side street five minutes walk from the wonderful Charles Bridge taking you straight in to the Old Town and the Jewish Quarter and another short walk up to the magnificent Castle Complex. I could not praise the quality of... More

The Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa is just what the name says - a grand hotel perfect for a romantic long weekend. It's located in a gorgeous building dating back to the 1500's. It's interior decoration virtually makes you feel that you are living in a baroque castle. Hidden under the main building is the spa which is intriguing with... More

I found the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa after reading a Tripadvisor review. I am so glad I did! The hotel is a little gem close to absolutely everything! You can easily walk up to the Castle or over to the river. Everything is close. The decor is over-the-top glam but it worked perfectly in amazing Prague! You can easily... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
