We have just returned from a weekend stay at the Alchymist. The staff were welcoming, friendly and extremely attentive with the check in greeting a pleasurable experience compared to some reviews we have read. The photos of this hotel were one of the attractions for our visit and we were not disappointed - it really is Bohemian elegance at its... More

Prague- city of my heart. Having lived here for a time and after many visits, I can say with authority that if you are seeking a personal boutique luxury hotel environment, you need look no further. The Alchymist is truly the finest accommodation Prague has to offer. My most recent stay, 2 weeks for our wedding and honeymoon, was perfect.... More

We stayed for 2 nights, Fri,Sat as our first visit to Prague. Got picked up from the Airport on BMW X5, very comfortable tide & pleasant reception on arrival. Had dinner in the restaurant late Fri night & even though we were last ones there, the local singer stayed till the end of our meal. Food was excellent & overall... More

We stayed (3 couples) at this wonderful exceptional hotel for 2 nights. Staff were lovely, friendly and very helpful. The hotel is a delight both inside and outside. We had so much fun in the evening in the lovely romantic courtyard. Breakfast was varied and staff were most attentive. The Spa is an experience in itself and a "must do"... More

Extremely helpful and accommodating staff. Location of hotel is great. Our room was very clean, comfortable and relaxing. Breakfast service was varied and easy. Staff helped booking food, taxis, tours etc. Picked up at a good price on last minute.com - no complaints at all.

I will recommend this hotel to everyone going to Prague! We were welcomed by very friendly staff and checked-in enjoying welcome hot wine. The hotel inside & outside looks beautiful and its courtyard was decorated with Christmas Tree as the holiday season. Breakfast is perfect and you can enjoy the complimentary wine tasting in the evening. Only one thing we... More

Just returned from 2 nights in Prague at the Alchymist and cannot praise the hotel enough! Please ignore the bad review, the hotel is next to the American embassy, security checks took 2 minutes with no hassle whatsoever. We were greeted as we got out the taxi and our bags were taken by the doorman and taken to our room.... More

Let's begin with our arrival...right next to the US embassy we were greeted with a thorough security check. Check in was ok but they treat you like you are signing a Will...it was endless. When we asked for a Czech restaurant they gave us an Italian one. The family rooms are misrepresented. The main room is good or rather gaudy!... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
