The hotel is in a historic building. It is one of the most stunning and beautiful hotel we have ever stayed at. Very conveniently located near Charlie's bridge also a close walk to major attractions. The rooms were very clean and the staff helpful and friendly. An amazing place to stay in Prague.

Lots of grand furniture and gold (it is an Alchemist), but the staff are very friendly and helpful. Location next to US Embassy and moment from Charles Bridge. Complimentary evening wine and cheese is nice and a place to meet fellow travellers. Breakfast was generous. No complaints.

This is a gem of a hotel. Fabulous location just a short walk from Charles Bridge, a beautiful stroll away from the castle and cathedral and within short distances of the Jewish quarter. The staff greeted us with a glass of bubbly and sat down to discuss what we required during our stay. They were helpful booking restaurants and were... More

The more one stays in hotels, the more one realises that they succeed or fail on the attributes of their staff. Not only is this hotel visually gorgeous, but every single member of the staff one comes into contact with are outstanding. Helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, could not have been more welcoming. The rooms are spotless and sumptuous, the food is... More

We stayed here for a weekend and loved it. Neither of us is into gold yet the abundance of it didn't revolt us like it normally would since this old lady from the 16th century carries it like a charm. The staff are fabulously attentive. The location is perfect in a quite cul de sac opposite the American embassy yet... More

We came in from Munich on the train. The hotel at what I felt was a last minute request on my part, booked us a car from the station to the hotel. Very safe, glad we hired one. Having been so accommodating out of the gate should have been the sign we were in for a treat. Note coming into... More

The first impression of the hotel is that it is unlike the normal hotel and maybe over the top with regard to the interior and decorations. One soon realizes that it creates that atmosphere for which Prague has become known, centuries of royalty. The hotel has quaint little touches such as the late afternoon Wine and cheese tasting which is... More

This hotel is pure perfection! From the moment you walk in - it is a fabulously preserved 16th century hotel. The decor is just beautiful. The restaurant was absolutely delicious. The bar was great, they also have a cigar selection to choose from as well (but you have to smoke outside). They have a great coffee & pastry shop that... More

An amazing place if visiting Prague. Would highly recommend. Room clean, close to great places in town, and a very safe place. Love the history of the hotel. When you go -- get a spay treatment and the walk through the basement that is mind blowing how long it goes and goes and goes.

This hotel is in a historical building. It is just next to the US Embassy. Very nice located, walking distance to all the major attractions, but still quiet. The rooms, the sitting areas and the courtyards are very nice. The restaurant is fantastic. Ideal place to bring your sweetheart there --- especially for a romantic place like Prague!

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
