I can not say enough good things about this hotel. The building itself is incredibly beautiful. The rooms are large and the staff is friendly and helpful. There is a free wine and cheese tasting every afternoon. The spa is beautiful and has great services. The location is ideal - away from the crowds but just a few min away... More

From the moment we landed at Prague airport it was a great experience. The hotel transport we had arranged to take us to the Alchymist Grand Hotel was waiting ready as we arrived late at 11pm. Upon arrival at the hotel we were warmly greeted and the staff were happy to serve us drinks late even though we were a... More

We arrived in Prague on the Orient Express and as soon as we stepped into the Alchymist Grand Hotel & Spa, we sensed that our grand travel experience has just been extended! The hotel transfer from Prague Smichov train station was flawless, the hotel location is perfect and the arrival and check in went very smoothly. The hotel room is... More

We stayed in the Alchymist hotel with a friend in a room with twin beds. Everything was perfect from the decoration to the service and from the breakfast to the daily wine tasting. One evening we felt so comfortable in our room after a session at the hotel spa, that we decided to order dinner from the room service, what... More

We recently stayed at the hotel. It is well located to either walking or the trams. It is across from the US and Ireland embassies so security in the area is very good. The staff was all very nice. Rooms are clean. The rooms were nice sized but the tub/shower in our room was deep and difficult to get in... More

We were given a wonderful welcome here and all the staff were lovely. It is decorated in old world fashion and is certainly different. Being an old building it is very noisy. Both from people above moving about and cars unloading goods outside. So don't go there if you want quietness. It is also very old fashioned and not what... More

My husband and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at the Alchymist Grand Hotel and Spa to celebrate my 40th! The luxurious surroundings, fantastic food and attentive staff certainly helped ease the pain of being another year older! The location is perfect, within easy reach of the castle, Charles Bridge and the Old Town. We did pretty... More

We used tripadvisor to find this hotel in Prague and felt we had been so lucky. It is a jewel tucked away in a quiet street near the Charles Bridge. The staff were incredibly charming, efficient and fluent in English, thank goodness! They booked concerts for us, offered lovely treats (drinks and snacks) and made us feel at home. Gorgeous... 5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 27, 2015

Stayed in the Alchymist Grand Hotel in May 2013 for a special occasion and hope to get back again sometime. It is the most peculiar mix of gilded grandeur and odd decor that I have ever experienced. Much of our stay was spent glorious elegance whilst spotting different details around the building. The wine and cheese tasting in the evening... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
