The hotel U Zlateho Jelena is an extremely charming hotel in the old town of Prague. It's in a perfect location, only a few meters from the old town square yet in a quiet position. There are many nice restaurants to be found close by and a very nice Thai restaurant at the entrance to the hotel. The service was... More

Location: just perfect. Well, many of the main attractions in Prague are not exactly very far from each other, but this hotel has a very central location, lying just a few steps from Old Town Square, in a middle point between the former and Republic Square, and it's quite a large street, so it can't be really missed, even if... Cozy hotel, in the middle of Old Town. Walking distance to most attractions. The hotel is situated in a quaint old building, the room we had was a small 1 1/2 etage with a jacuzzi and a view over the inner yard. Wifi didn't always work in the room, but worked perfectly in the reception and breakfast area. Great service!... More

A small hotel with quirky, renovated furniture in the rooms. If you are looking for a "large chain" style of hotel decorated by Ikea this one is not for you, but for a romantic, reasnobly priced base in the centre of town it is perfect. What really made it was the excellent, friendly service from every member of staff we... More

Like others have said, this isn't a chain, everything the same and modern hotel. It does however have charm and the location is really unbeatable. We walked everywhere over our weekend and for the price paid it really was excellent. We had no problems with the wifi but would say the mattresses could have been a bit better - but... More

This hotel was recommended by a friend- as we were visiting an old city- we wanted a beautiful charming type vibe- and it far surpassed that!!! Nestled on a cobblestone street in the old town- it is just amazing- HOWEVER- if you have ANY mobility issues- NO ELEVATORS- and NO PORTERS!!!! It was fine for us- and we were on... More

Nice character throughout the hotel. Very comfortable beds and great size room in general. Very polite and helpful staff. Couldn't fault it apart from poor wifi in the room but down in the reception/cafe works just fine. Would definitely stay again upon returning to prague.

What i hate when i am at the four star hotel is to have a different keys and be opening several doors myself after 11pm. Hotel has a soul of really old prague, but in my opinion it doesnt loooks good. Another minus IMHo. Is to have a window in bathroom. You can look outside, but somebody coud look inside,... More

I was at this hotel over Christmas this year. It was my first time in Prague, but I would be surprised if there's a better home base for exploring the old town. This hotel offered a good refuge in the sea of tourists that beset Prague over the Christmas holiday. I traveled a lot over the 10 days around Christmas.... More

Spent 4 nights here and could not have chosen better for value, location and character. This is not a modern all rooms the same. It is a historical character hotel with all the rooms different and provides excellent all day services to guests and locals alike. If you find stairs difficult then this is not the place to stay at... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
