We usually stay at branded hotels, so this gem was a new experience. First, let me say that Prague was having above average temperatures and as a spoiled American I was surprised there was no AC. There was a nice fan in the room. It's supposedly a building from 1366, so it has some interesting quirks. The bathrooms are spacious,... More

LOCATION,location, excellent location. All the ladies in charge of the front desk were kind and helpful. Always with a smile and ready to help. The room has the charm of an old hotel but there was no shower only bathtub and it was difficult or impossible to find WIFI signal in the room. There was no A/C and only a... More

High ceilings, original parquet flooring, antique furniture, original artwork on walls, very spacious rooms, wooden shutters and windows which either cancelled out the street noise or allowed a nice breeze, delightful original features everywhere. Pillows to die for. No OTT five star flashy poshness but top-notch on cleanliness, comfort and good staff. Perfect location in the heart of the Old... More

A group of 6 girls stayed here the weekend of 15 May - this hotel was apparently built in 1355 - we had 2 rooms on the second floor - there is no lift - the decor etc. is full of original features - however some carpets needs updating. The staff were excfellent all over from reception, housekeeping to breakfast.... More

At room number 1 the bed is so bad that I had huge trouble sleeping. Also the hotel is very noisy analsol my colleagues complained about it. The only good points are the breakfast and the smiling staff, but definitely not worth the money!

The hotel U Zlateho Jelena is an extremely charming hotel in the old town of Prague. It's in a perfect location, only a few meters from the old town square yet in a quiet position. There are many nice restaurants to be found close by and a very nice Thai restaurant at the entrance to the hotel. The service was... More

Location: just perfect. Well, many of the main attractions in Prague are not exactly very far from each other, but this hotel has a very central location, lying just a few steps from Old Town Square, in a middle point between the former and Republic Square, and it's quite a large street, so it can't be really missed, even if... Cozy hotel, in the middle of Old Town. Walking distance to most attractions. The hotel is situated in a quaint old building, the room we had was a small 1 1/2 etage with a jacuzzi and a view over the inner yard. Wifi didn't always work in the room, but worked perfectly in the reception and breakfast area. Great service!... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
