Booked 2 nights at this hotel on recommendation of our last Prague hotel which happened to be fully book. Was pleasantly surprised with its perfect location, just a few meters from Charles Bridge and walking distance to s lot of good restaurants. Prague Castle was easily accessible by tram and also by walking. We occupied the suite room on the... More

OK, stayed there for 3 nights. The rooms are very spacious and I loved the beds; very comfortable to sleep. What I really wonder is that for example booking.com site and many others claim that this hotel has air conditioner (see General section) but the truth is that there IS NO air conditioner except in 2 out of 8 rooms... After a long train ride from Berlin, we finally made our way to the hotel from the train station by subway and tram, although a taxi would be easier if you have a lot of luggage. We were welcomed by Zuzana who showed us to our room - a suite on the first floor - we would advise that you... More

The hotel is very well located, close to Charles Bridge and other tourist attractions, surrounded by many restaurants, but also importantly the hotel is accessible by car up until the front entrance unlike other hotels in Old Town where vehicles are not permitted to enter (which means you need to haul your luggage a few blocks over cobble stones streets).... I spent three wonderful nights at Domus Balthasaar. The experience was wonderful from the moment of check-in: genuine hospitality by all the front-desk personnel, a splendid and spacious room (Number 3) with two walls of windows and all the necessary amenities, and loads of evocative charm. Breakfast (included) in the ground-floor restaurant, was tasty and generous. This hotel is a... More

First-rate service, and just eight ( think) spacious, immaculate rooms. The Domus Balthazar is very conveniently located right by the Charles Bridge, on the calmer side of the river. After a day of navigating the high-season crush of tourists through this spectacular city, it was a joy to retreat back across the bridge to the Domus's cozy welcome. It's also... More

We stayed for 3 nights in the Attic Room #7 at Domus Balthasar Design Hotel. What a wonderful place! The attic isn't for everyone, as the ceiling is a bit lower, but the open beams give this room character. The small windows offer roof top views, and a glimpse of the Castle and bridge. It is spacious with a double... More

I have lived just about 3 minutes away from the hotel and for that reason I booked the room when coming back to Prague. I was not disappointed. Yes, you can't expect an enormous entrance like in Intercontinental but the super pleasant receptionist are seriously better than that. Always smiling and super helpful. The rooms are enormous, bright, clean and... More

I can't say enough about this place... Firstly, the location, right at the base of the Charles Bridge in Malastrana, couldn't be more ideal. You are out of the craziness of Old Town, but just a short walk across the bridge and you are there. It is perfectly central to everything you'd need to see in the city. Secondly, the... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
