We had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights in February. The hotel is great, fantastic location and staff simply couldn't do enough. Prague is an amazing city and this hotel really couldn't be situated anywhere better in order to see all it has to offer. We stayed in a suite and were really quite blown away by the... More

A very nice hotel in the middle of the beautiful Prague. The hotel is located very central in the city. It have a very nice atmosphere with a little open square in the middle where you can eat your breakfast. The rooms are very nice and the one we stayed at was huge. Staff always meet you in a friendly... More

Conveniently located, hardly 2-3 mins walk to the old town square. Situated in a narrow lane with cobbled paths, Iron Gate has a nice rustic look which gives the hotel a lot of character. The Suite rooms are extremely spacious and comfortable. The service is average.

We were greeted by two gents who took our luggage in for us, Iron gate hotel assisted us voluntarily, handed us full information about Prague always greeted us with a smile and provided us with a top service. They also helped and guided us around the city and advised us with the best restaurants too.

This is a Lovely Little hotel! Just about 40 rooms, ours was large with sleeping area and a sitting area, flat screen tv, desk, minibar, a large bathroom with wardrobe in. The bathroom was very large with bathtub, but no shower curtain, so the floor Went really wet. We noticed that it had been a curtain there Before, but taken... More

Poor service, Motel Six furniture even though some nights were 675 euro ( not a typo ), mediocre breakfast room that was rather gloomy, and no responsiveness to complaints, Upon check-in you will learn that your bill has been paid in full. So, if you booked 7 nights, you pay for 7 nights even if you only stay for 3.... More

We loved this hotel! It is located really close to the old town center but far enough to make it a quiet place to retreat. Just a few minutes and you are in the hustle and bustle of the city. The hotel itself is really interesting with a center courtyard with outdoor seating for meals. The hotel has a variety... More

I had a truly wonderful 4 night stay at The Iron Gate last week, no complaints about anything. I arrived at 1:30 and my room wasn't ready so I stepped into their courtyard restaurant for lunch and a glass of wine, got into my room at 2 and was thrilled to have been upgraded to a junior suite--cozy separate living... Location is one of the key points as 2 block from the clock. Room was a bit far as we had to walk up few floors and stairs to reach it, make sure you are in a good shape before you choose the suite deluxe. Breakfast is the only point we were really disappointed with, it drags the 5th star... More

Our experience at The Iron Gate was full of ups and downs. On arrival we were downgraded to a deluxe room from a Junior Suite for 2 nights. We were then upgraded to the Tower Suite for 2 nights. The staff certainly tried to compensate for the inconvenience by providing a complimentary bottle of champagne (which we returned) and an... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
