I did not stay in the hotel but just went there for a breakfast. Swiss table. Great choice of food. Everything fresh and well cooked. Friendly and helpful staff. Very reasonable prices. Recommend if you are looking to get a good breakfast.

I've been to Prague a dozen times and have stayed at a few hotels but Iron gates is the one I always use now. Great location, real character to the rooms, peaceful, secure and really comfortable beds! I've saved money in the past staying slightly out of town (a false economy) and spent more locally but never had anything better.... More

Very nice atmosphere and a unique building right in the city centre of Prague. Very friendly staff and excellent rooms. We had the junior suite royal duplex room. Breakfast was in a separate building, but that was no problem at all.

Warm, smiling staff are the first impressions upon arrival and it only improves. Wonderful location in the old quarter and convenient to everywhere. They were very helpful with tours and advice and I would definitely stay here again when visiting this beautiful city.

This Hotel is situated only minutes away from the main square but in a very quiet location. Accomodation was excellent although we booked 3 Junior Suites non of them had a deep sunken Bath as advertised. Breakfast was very basic but ok. Reception staff were very helpful Will definately stop here again

I stayed here with my partner and would recommend to anyone. The location is brilliant one minute walk to old town square. I stayed in the 14th century duplex royal suite with jacuzzi (each royal suite differently themed and not all have jacuzzi bath so worth choosing which one you want). Beautiful unusual room it was a bit dark but... More

We stayed at the Iron Gate for the weekend. The rooms are a very good size and spotless. The hotel staff were very courteous and helpful. The hotel is a stones throw from the square and there are plenty of restaurants to choose from. Breakfast was typically European, cold meats and cheese but they also did scrambled egg, beans and sausage.... More

Booked a four night stay and took a while to find this little gem. Really helpful staff, really lovely rooms, great breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble - they gave excellent restaurant suggestions and booked same for us. Even got a room upgrade - very much appreciated. And the location couldn't be beat. Oh - and they sent a bottle... More

Staff is excellent, prompt communication via email before arrival, breakfast was amazing, room perfect, location perfect (just 100 m from the main square), wifi was fast. Couldn't have asked more. I ordered the "romantic" package that included the dinner in their restaurant: food was very great, but we were the only persons in the restaurant. No "standing" shower (there was... More

It's our 5th time to Prague (just love this city at Christmas) & our first stay in The Iron Gate Hotel but i'm sure it wont be our last. The staff were all so helpful & friendly, the breakfast buffet catered for every taste & was constantly topped up. We had a suite (room 205) which was gorgeous, the jacuzzi... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
