We stayed in the Berlin room between Christmas and New Years. Located behind reception you do get a bit of noise but the bedroom can be closed off so this wasn't an issue. Lovely large apartment, very very warm and nice to relax in. I loved the shower, which was a luxury to jump into after trapsing around Prague in... More

Hotel-Residence Retezova **** was perfectly located in the old town, off a quiet street but still very close to the main square and the bridge. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and kindly offered us a free up grade and an early check in as we arrived at 9am - we very very greatful for this as we... More

They were very nice and welcoming, a bottle of wine and christmas cakes were on the table of our room when we arrrived for christmas! Lovely room Singapore, with tea and hot water, very clean but not for older because of the stairs... More

We stayed at Residence Retezova for 4 nights over Christmas in Prague. It was everything that we could have hoped for. The staff were very welcoming and the room was the largest that we have stayed in during any of our extensive travels in Europe without renting a whole apartment. We stayed in the apartment Madrid and the facilities were... More

Once upon a time three ladies set off to the Christmas Markets in Prague... With a little help from Tripadvisor they found themselves staying in Residence Retezova and from the minute they stepped inside the door they knew they'd done good ;). On arrival we were informed that they had upgraded us, free of charge, to a two bedroom apt.... More

The facilities are great with big rooms and big bathrooms in a historic building- not a combination that is always available. The staff is fantastically helpful and will go out of their way for you. One tip- call them ahead of time and arrange to have them pick you up, as parking is difficult in the old part of Prague.... More

You cannot really be much nearer the centre of the old town. We stayed in the singapore apartment right at the top, I think its the smallest and the cheapest. Its has a small sitting room and it has a very steep wooden stair up to the bedroom that is more like a posh ladder so I would only recommend... More

The place was ideal for its location in the very heart of Prague, and in a very calm street just as well. The room (Madrid - an apartment in actual fact) is also perfect if you want to get something cooked by yourself. My fiancee would have enjoyed a nice hot bath, that unfortunately was the only thing that was... More

Very good stay at the Residence Retezova, the staff were very helpful. The hotel is literally a 3 or 4 minute walk to the Old Town centre and to the Charles Bridge in the other direction. I recommend that you do a walking tour of the Old Town, there is a free one that meets outside the tourism building in... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
