I chose this B&B based on TA reviews and was fortunate enough to book 2 rooms (family suite) for Thanksgiving week. Later, I learned it is also highly rated by Rick Steves. First the service is impeccable. Jan and his staff (mostly family and close friends) act as shuttle drivers, cooks, concierge, and anything else you need. They are very... More

I found this on Tripadvisor and am so glad I did. A perfect location with HIGH security as the German Embassy is across the street and the American Embassy just a block away. Parking just a couple minute walk away. Minutes from Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. A must do is walk first to the Petřín Lookout Tower looks like... More

We, my wife and myself, do travel a lot, for bsnss and leisure, and usually stay in chain hotels... This time, went on a short trip to Prague, and were recommended to stay in this hotel...Could not have been better!!! Starting from the people who own the hotel, the Rippl family, the kindness, the warmth, the cleanles, the history of... More

From our pickup at the airport to our drop off at the bus station Jan, Jakub and the rest of the family and staff treated up superbly. Jan picked us up and on the way back to the Big Boot pointed out a few sites, helped orient us and suggested how to avoid getting lost. Prague is a very walkable... More

Enjoyed so much our stay here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent, not in the middle of the busy touristy area but a close walk to the Charles bridge and Prague Castle. It was quiet at night and our room was perfect.

I spent only 2 nights here with a friend. It was a charming, comfortable and a great location from which to explore all the historic quarters of beautiful Prague on foot, although the tram is convenient, as well. The hosts were knowledgeable and helpful. I would love to go back!

This place makes you feel like home. Great hospitality and warm place. We stayed there 4 friends and it was perfect. The place is Middle of the old town and servicers are very kind. But there is a thing you have to know that here is not a hostel. Room conditions are very satisfieding. You will love the place.

Enjoyed our stay with Mr Rippl, his 2 sons and all the associates. This place is very well located in the safe, embassy district and a pleasure to walk to and from. Our room was especially large, clean and quiet. We greatly enjoyed our history lesson with Mr Rippl who lived through the communist occupation and out city tour with... More

We traveled with another couple and loved our 4 night stay at Dum u velke boty. The rooms are large, comfortable and have charm. Breakfast was great with eggs made to order each morning. The staff is extremely helpful offering excellent restaurant recommendations as well as ideas to enjoy the city. Be sure to take the walk up behind the... More

Wonderful guest house, well run by a warm family...we felt welcome from the pick up at the train station through the last day. They were able to provide us with a local tour guide, one of the family! We enjoyed staying in Mala Strana, the quieter side of Prague; it felt more like a neighborhood, although was an easy walk... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
