We were there as a family and loved it. One of the days, my son was unwell and they were very accommodating and caring. We loved the breakfast area and time interacting with other guest and the hosts.

We stayed here for 3 nights at the beginning of May, and would definitely recommend this place. We opted for the pick up from the airport and Jan was waiting for us. The hotel is located in the embassy district of Prague and it feels really safe to walk around at night. It's within walking distance of pretty much everything,... More

This gem of a hotel already has so many five star reviews that it almost doesn't need another, but our stay was so lovely I am compelled to write. Located on a quiet, safe street, less than ten minutes walk from Charles Bridge and 20 minutes to old town, House at the Big Boot is within walking distance of most... More

Every staff member at this B&B was extremely helpful and friendly. We were pleased to learn our room was already ready even though we arrived a little early. They provided a map, which they went over with us in detail after offering us some coffee. They also provided a list of nearby recommended restaurants and cafes; the ones we tried were... More

This place was just lovely. One of the nicest rooms I've stayed in in Europe. General- Jan was like a long lost friend and treated us better than family. He was at breakfast every morning we stayed and even invited us to enjoy breakfast extra early on the day our train arrived at 7am. His wife bakes delicious bakery items... More

Started out our two week European journey in Prague. Pros: great hospitality, staff bends over backward to help, large, clean rooms (by European standard), hot water with good water pressure, great breakfast - with made to order eggs. We enjoyed the location west of the river and close to the castle and Charles bridge. The only con is that rooms... More

This was absolutely the best! Jan, Jakub, Lidka and everyone made our stay superb, from picking us up at the train station to taking us back to the airport 5 days later. It was like staying in a fancy home-- the recommendations in the 'local' restaurants, away from the touristy ones, places to visit (the peacocks!) that some folk might... More

Me and my family spend 2 nights there. The friendly staffs gave us great recommendations for our visit and restaurants. The owners and staffs served us with breakfast and always made sure we felt comfortable and welcome in the house. Great location, just 10-20 mins to well-known places. Rooms with nice furnitures and clean. Will come back again!

My husband and I were in Europe for over two weeks and this hotel was the best thing about our entire trip. The Rippl family picked us up at the airport and made certain our stay was 100% perfect. The hotel is immaculate and all staff members went out of their way to make sure our needs were met. They... More

A wonderful B and B nestled amongst the castles and palaces of the Little Quarter. Walking distance to the Charles Bridge and Old Town, and run by the Rippl family, who treat you like old friends as soon as you walk in the door. They provided us with awesome recommendations of great local spots that aren't in the guidebooks. We... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
