It was really a great experience staying in this comfortbale B&B. The landlord and all the staff was very kind with us, Mr Rippl helped my daughter carrying by car all her buggage to the university. The two double room were large and smart, the bathrooms ok, the breakfast great, the price really good for staying in Mala Strana. Thanks... More

We are just back from a short break in Prague, and can't recommend the Big Boot highly enough. Rooms spacious and comfortable, breakfast plentiful and personalised (great coffee). Location perfect walking distance from all sights to be in easy walking distance. And best of all, the owner and staff very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful - all spoke English so well... More

We stayed for new year and were treated as part of the family: a cup of tea on arrival whilst we were talked through the sights and recommendations, drinks and snacks before going out for midnight, "lucky soup" on New Year's Day. So welcoming, it was like life used to be, before the chains took over! If they don't have... More

We stayed here 5 nights on our Europe adventure, we were meant to get picked up from the airport but that didn't happen, we weren't too bothered just got a cab there, they apologised and gave us a bottle of champagne, these things happen sometimes! Noone is perfect ☺it didn't take away from our stay in Prague! The room was... More

I chose this B&B based on TA reviews and was fortunate enough to book 2 rooms (family suite) for Thanksgiving week. Later, I learned it is also highly rated by Rick Steves. First the service is impeccable. Jan and his staff (mostly family and close friends) act as shuttle drivers, cooks, concierge, and anything else you need. They are very... More

I found this on Tripadvisor and am so glad I did. A perfect location with HIGH security as the German Embassy is across the street and the American Embassy just a block away. Parking just a couple minute walk away. Minutes from Prague Castle and Charles Bridge. A must do is walk first to the Petřín Lookout Tower looks like... More

This time, went on a short trip to Prague, and were recommended to stay in this hotel...Could not have been better!!! Starting from the people who own the hotel, the Rippl family, the kindness, the warmth, the cleanles, the history of... More

From our pickup at the airport to our drop off at the bus station Jan, Jakub and the rest of the family and staff treated up superbly. Jan picked us up and on the way back to the Big Boot pointed out a few sites, helped orient us and suggested how to avoid getting lost. Prague is a very walkable... More

Enjoyed so much our stay here. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, and the location was excellent, not in the middle of the busy touristy area but a close walk to the Charles bridge and Prague Castle. It was quiet at night and our room was perfect.

I spent only 2 nights here with a friend. It was a charming, comfortable and a great location from which to explore all the historic quarters of beautiful Prague on foot, although the tram is convenient, as well. The hosts were knowledgeable and helpful. I would love to go back!

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
