Our rooms were semi-basement and pretty basic. Bed was fine but other bits were falling apart. But for the price it is central to all the sights - walking distance. Its an easy tram ride to other locations around the city. More likely to attract younger backpackers wanting a cheap place right in the city.

We booked this hostel for four nights, although they didn't seem to be expecting us.On arrival the first thing that hits you is the foul smell in the lobby, the room smelt just as bad. Our door had a hole big enough to climb through, so locking it was pointless. We felt very unsafe here, such a dodgy atmosphere. The... More

we booked this hostel as a group of friends. after reading previous reviews we were quite scared, excited and prepared for every possibility. We expected hostel will look like soviet sanatorium for insane people or prison with dark rooms with only old lightning bulb hanging from the wall. so for any case we packed ourselves with clean bedsheets, couple of... We arrived at this hostel by chance as our previous hostel was fully booked. The man at the reception was very helpful to us. 6 of us shared a dorm room which included 1 bunk bed and 2 doubles. The room was clean and bedding provided. This hostel is more of an apartment than a hostel and myself and my... More

I rent a room with some friends. It was dirty, smelling cigaretts everywhere, the beds were bad. I had never seen a bathroom that dirty! When we arrived, we seem to disturb people at the reception. In consequences, I will not recommend this hostel

I don't understand how this hostel can have positive reviews. Except for the location (center of Prague) which is nice, everything is horrible. H. O. R. R. I. B. L. E. The staff is unfriendly, if you arrive after 6 pm, you cannot even enter into the hostel (we had to book an other hostel at the last moment for... More

My boyfriends and I stayed here in Spring 2014. Once we found the hostel there was no way to get in, until some residents of the building came and unlocked the main door. The reception area was old, shabby, filled with dirty looking furniture that belonged in a skip. The man working at reception seemed disappointed that our check-in was... More

We (my boyfriend and I together with one friend) stayed at hostel Le Papillon for 4 nights. The hostel has a very good position, the distances to touristic attraction can be traveled by foot; on Jungmannova street cheap restaurants (Chinese, Indian) and shops are easy to be found. We stayed for 4 nights in the winter and the room was... More

The main advantage of this place is location. You can explore all city from this point, traveling by foot. I was here long time ago with my boyfriend and we spent three nights in this hostel. It was ok. Our room had no window, but we didn't need it, because we woke up at six and came back around midnight,... More

Myself and 4 friends booked 3 nights here 1 day in advance. We payed €15pp per night and expected a shared dorm but were given a 3 bedroom apartment with a fully equiped kitchen and bathroom (they had no smaller rooms available at short notice). The place could have slept 8 at least. It was really clean and the staff... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
