Stinks, Filled with smoke, not clean, attic room are terrible, bed sheets are the worst...!! 3 of us saw the pics in the trip advisor and thought that the hostel is good but the pics seem to be photoshopped. Everything about the hotel was bad. We stayed out late to avoid coming back to the place,

This place is crazy fun. A bar that never shuts, their own PUB CRAWL, and staff that wants to party with you. The bartender bought everyone at the bar shots as we were checking in. We stayed in a six-bed dorm. It was simple and everything looked second hand (even the free towels). But that's the charm of the hostel.... More

I stayed in the hostel for one night with my girlfriend. The first impression of the hostel was weird. The entrance is through a door which looks like a door to an old basement and it looked creepy. The place is not very clean. I think the hostel is meant for party-looking friend groups, but it is not ideal for... More

No lift in this hostel, but actually it not the most important problem, as long as you can reach hostel, because it's a little bit far from city center and bus stop, and hostel is in a hill, carry my luggage to climb up it's killing me…. Can't connect WIFI in my room first day. There is only one restaurant around... More

The hostel is run by lovely friendly people, who were more than accommodating and extremely helpful. However, the hostel itself was very unclean. The rooms, kitchen and bathrooms all looked dirty and really needed a deep clean. The bedding was awful so I would definitely advise taking your own. Although I cant really complain as the hostel is great for... More

At first sign it looked like a crappy, not so clean place. And the people in my room were very distant. So I didn't like it. BUT really i sat down for an half an hour at the bar, and I felt at home. And the thought I had before didn't mean anything at all. The staff is so kind.... More

This hostel was run by friendly people, and had a peculiar charm, despite the fact that from the outside one would probably (although entirely incorrectly) assume that it was a crack den. The rooms weren't all that clean, but that's half the experience ! The terrace was a good place to relax. The drinks are insultingly cheap at the bar.

This place was very close to the train station- about a 15 minute walk, so I'd recommend leaving the train station, best you Google it, but it definitely is manageable to walk! Prague in general is VERY hilly, very steep, so I would recommend storing all big luggage at the train station. When we entered the hostel, it took us... More

My 3rd visit to the clown and bard and Im staying for good. Everything you need. great adventures begin, continue and regenerate here. Friends are made for life. Hangovers become a bonding experience. Be yourself and enjoy yourself here, I always do. I've stayed in a lot of hostels, this is my most favourite.

This is the fifth time I've been to the Clown and Bard in ten years. Every time I plan to stay for two or three nights and end up staying for over a week. It is quite simply the best party hostel in Europe - ever since I was 18 i've compared hostels around the world to this one, and... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our hostel has been on the map since 1995 and still just as young in spirit and focused on our guests’ satisfaction as the day we started. With an international staff motivated by building new friendships and promoting a lively atmosphere, it is easy to consider this place a home away from home.We are located in Žižkov, which is just three tram stops from Václavské Námestí (the heart of Prague’s center). Žižkov is known for being the most socially diverse area of the city, making a short visit quite comfortable and in some cases worth extending. For those travelers on a budget yet still wanting to experience the culture of the local people, this spot is a gem. Žižkov has the highest number of bars in the city and there are a variety of beer gardens, cafes and restaurants with both local and other ethnic cuisines to enjoy. ... more   less
