We stayed here for three nights and it was perfect! The location is amazing.....so close to the Mala Strana side of the Charles Bridge, probably about 30-35 meters. A beautiful spot right near the water wheel and easy walking to all the sights. The Metro and tram stops are very close too....just a 4-5 minute walk. The hotel is small,... More

Location, service, quality and value all top-notch for this charming little gem. It is just steps from the Charles Bridge and a short walk to the tram to Prague Castle. Our large (by European standards) and immaculate room had a great view of both the bridge and the canal and was ready when we arrived early in the morning after... More

Top marks all round for this delightful hotel. We let the hotel know we would not be there until 11ish and was assurred that it would not be a problem, our rooms would be ready. First impression was we couldn't of picked a better location. Just at the bottom of the famous Charles Bridge. Our room was spacious with a... More

After browsing several other hotels we finally chose this one for our 40th wedding anniversary celebration but we were very disappointed with it. The room we were allocated was below ground level and looked out, through barred windows, onto a dirty canal. The room was long and narrow necessitating an odd layout of furniture. We had asked for twin beds... More

This hotel locates in the best place for observing Prague - just under the Charles bridge. It takes no more than 10 minutes to the Prague Castle or Staromestska square and only 5 minutes to the nearest metro station (green line from the airport). Breakfest was good. Nice view from the appartment windows - on the Charles bridge (even from... More

We stayed here for 4 days, the room was clean and tidy with a clean and tidy bathroom. The room and bathroom were not huge but adequate for a 4 day break. Our room was on the 3rd floor overlooking Charles Bridge. We found the staff to be warm and pleasant, and spoke good English. The breakfast was buffet style... More

Stayed here in June 2013, just as the national flood disaster was announced! Hotel was quiet but we were still given a poky double with the smallest bathroom I've ever seen. Reception staff varied from helpful and pleasant to downright rude, standing outside rather than manning the desk. Breakfast fine - great omelettes. Best thing is the location - unless... More

The hotel is perfectly located near the "Karlův most" (Charles bridge). Excellent location for a walk to the downtown historic center, as well as for a walk up to the Prague castle, or a nice evening walk alongside the Moldau river. The rooms are small but nice. The breakfast buffet is sufficient, with a few local danish pastry specials. Don't... More

Just got back from a 3 night stay at this wonderful hotel. From check in to check out everything was wonderful. The breakfast was plentiful, the room immaculate, ours overlooked the small loch and the bridge. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who likes to be well looked after.

Certovka is an excellent four star hotel at the Western end of Charles Bridge. The rooms are well cleaned and a decent size, with views of either the Castle or Bridge/river. Its under five minutes walk from the nearest tram stop, ten minutes to the subway, and close to lots of great restaurants. Breakfast is buffet and cooked. Staff are... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
