Our tour company who shall remain anonymous set us up here and passed this off as a 5 star hotel - maybe in 1920? It's lobby and rooms are outdated by 90 years. Carpets are dirty and beds are uncomfortable. The bathtub's shower door had a rubber gasket at the bottom to prevent leaks but it was corroded and leaked... More

Excellent Hotel 5-star. Breakfast is rich and delicious. Very friendly service. We arrived around 10 am and immediately we got an amazing room (clean and tidy with a beautiful view). The hotel is located in the center of Prague 1 near the river (7 minutes from astronomical clock, 10 minutes from Charles Bridge). Recommend to everyone, good-value for the price

The hotel was not badly located, but is definitely in need of a facelift. The rooms were not that clean and our room had a variety of insects. On the last day, a bunch of ants came marching up one side of the bed. The air conditioning was sporadic. The wi-fi was slow to respond and service was sporadic. The... More

I have to say I was dubious of staying here thanks to some of the reviews on this site, but I’m glad to say that this place met and exceeded our expectations. Firstly, the location of the Hotel is excellent. You’re looking at a ten minute walk to the old square, and around the same to the Charles Bridge. If... More

My husband and I recently stayed at this hotel on a 2-day visit to the wonderful city of Prague. Given the many negative reviews - rude staff, bad food, awful decor, dirty rooms etc etc - of this hotel on Trip Advisor, I have to say I was very nervous of what I'd find on arrival. How pleasantly surprised we... More

This is a classic revamped communist era hotel built for tourists to earn (the then) Czechoslovakia hard currency earnings; brutalist architecture and dated though acceptable decor; was advised by member of staff that the hotel (following evidently a change in ownership/ management) is shortly due to undergo a significant facelift so one to watch. 40 euro parking fee was bait... The hotel has a great location - about 10 minute walk from the old town square with astronomical clock and a 10 minute walk from Charles bridge. The room was clean and spacious with beautiful views of a castle. The rooms and showers however need renovations. The rooms are dated and look more like a 3 star hotel, even by... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
