This a wonderful place to stay in Prague. Milo and his family are great hosts. As some have stated previously, Milo is a great chef and it is worth coming back to the hotel for dinner, which we did every night. You are very near one of the tram stops that will get you essentially anywhere within 20 minutes. Bottom... more

Pension Vetrnik is half-way between Old Town and the Airport. It is the perfect location as it is in a park, but is only a 20 minute tram ride to the Charles Bridge. The family is very hospitable. We arrived exhausted and jet lagged at 10 a.m. and were able to check into our room. They were even able to... more

We loved it. It's very Czech (in all the best ways) so there's no danger of thinking that you could be anywhere in the world. Our room was beautiful - large, split level, with a good bathroom, and even stuff for shoe cleaning (I think). Breakfast was wonderful, with a choice of just about any combination of egg, ham, cheese,... more

What a wonderful bed and breakfast in the 'suburbs' of Prague. The owners - Milos Opatrna and his daughter, Blanka - were friendly, informative, and accommodating. The breakfasts included fresh pastries/breads, granola, juice, coffee, and eggs cooked to order. The location, in a quiet, safe neighborhood, is within 2 blocks of the bus to the airport (#179, approximately 30 minutes)... more

My wife and I completly agree with all of the wonderful reviews made by others. We stayed at the Pension for 2 nights in May, 2008. It is difficult to find the proper superlatives to describe how wonderful this place is. Milos and his family ( and his dog) makes you feel like you are the only guest, like you... more

I can only say that our recent experience of Pension Vetrnik mirrored those of the previous reviewers. The place was great, with the walled garden and wooded area, the old building, the fire in the diningroom and the room was fine. The family were particularly engaging, very helpful and friendly. (and the dog was friendly too!) We ate in every... more

Pension Vetrnik proved to be an oasis of cool in the European heat wave of July 2007. Thanks to Milos and his daughter Blanka, and of course the rest of the Opatrna family working behind the scenes, we had a wonderful few days in Prague. After a brutally hot 4-hour train ride from Germany in 36C weather, we arrived in... more

After a long plane flight and a walk in the cold we were warmly welcomed by Milos and very impressed by his hospitality and the fabulous dinner by the fireplace (he cooked us whatever we wanted). The room was charming and the breakfast delectible. However, what impressed us the most, was that when we were stuck in Austria by a... more

I think I will have difficulty writing this review without sounding over-the-top and cliche, but this is the most atmospheric, perfect place I have ever stayed. My husband and I stayed for four nights from October 4-8. As the previous reviewer noted also, it was a bit hard for us to find at first, even though it is in a... more

If you will be driving to the pension property, don't count on getting any directions from the innkeepers. When I emailed and called, I was basically told to get a map and then "ask someone. It's complicated." Well...indeed, it was. I got a map, and I asked three people, and they had not heard of the pension, or the street.... more
