This hotel is situated in the perfect location for everything you wolud like to do in the beautiful city of Prague. You can see the Charles Bridge from the front door, and you are literally 4/5 minutes walks from the old town. The rooms are large and decorated in baroque style. But the food of the hotel's restaurant it's not... More

I had some trepidation on my first trip to Prague. I am so glad that I sought out this hotel. The staff was incredible, my room was much larger than expected and the location is right outside of the historic Charles Bridge. The hotel is easy to find and since you are next to the bridge, you can't get lost.... More

This hotel has friendly, excellent staff. Stayed here for a couple nights on trip through Europe. The hotel is like something out of a movie, old world charm but not run down. Hotel was very clean and right in the middle of old town in perfect location! Can't say enough about this hotel, I was impressed. When i go back... More

Staff in reception was always friendly and gave much and needed help to four norwegian on tour for the first time in Prague. The rooms had a very special aura to them and the decor of the hotel made it somewhat special, compared to other hotels. Breakfast was buffet style and fine. Coffee no good, but rest was excellent. Short... More

U Zlateho Stromu (golden tree) hotel is in a great location in the old town. Literally a minutes walk from Charles bridge, it is on a busy pedestrian thoroughfare for tourists (Karlova). Enter at the same door as the Music Club and head up to the first floor for reception. Staff were friendly and check in easy. I was in... More

Quirky, Charming, and in the perfect location, this hotel is perfect...for some travelers. I had the room right over the street entrance to the club, and was nervous that the crowds would keep me up. While I was awakened several times over a four night stay, (twice around 2, once or twice at midnight, and once at 6), the shouting... More

Staff were always smiling and made us very welcome - especially on reception! Very enjoyable short stay located in excellent location. The rooms had a lot of character, and gave the impression you could be staying in an antiques shop with lots of very interesting items! We will return to this hotel again - hopefully during the summer.

Nice and cosy hotel with long history and it felt like the room in 4th floor (44) had it's own soul :) For families with children, you should ask for room in 4th floor due to some background noise from the Music bar in the basement. The room we got (44) was exelent, windows towards the back yard and we... More

Checked in a couple of days ago. The hotel really looks as in the pictures, we stayed in room 24, with street view. My first reaction was waw! Then I won a bit worried as seen another comment here that there is a problem with noise because of the street.... but nothing important happened! We could sleep more than ok!... More

Stopped for a meal while visiting Prague. Staff was friendly and spoke a good English. The food was very tasty and portions very large, you definitely have to try the potato and mushroom soup, delicious. The salmon pasta was tasty too and my partner fairly enjoyed the mixed platter of meats and dumplings. It's located in the old town at... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
