We have just returned from a most enjoyable three night break at this hotel. We arrived at 9.30am and intended to drop our luggage off before checking in at 2pm. However, the staff were extremely helpful, and allowed us to check into our room as it was ready. This was a great help as we had been travelling through the... more

I stayed there for five nights. The location is excellent! It’s on Namesty Republiky, that is very near to downtown (8 blocks from the Old Square of Prague and just 2 blocks from the Powder Tower). My room was heading to the street, and it was great! Not so big, but perfect for me. Everything was perfectly clean all the... more

1. The location was OK. A 10-15-minute walk to the old town. There was a modern shopping mall (Palladiun) a 2-minute walk away, with a supermarket, etc. in the basement. This was formerly the Mercure Praha Old Town Hotel, part of the same chain of hotels as Ibis (which was next door). 2. The price was reasonable. I got a... more

Having read previous reviews I thought I had gone to a different hotel. At no point did we encounter rude staff. The gentleman behind reception was expecting us and even laughed and joked with us while we were checking in. The chamber maids all said good morning and the barman was always polite and smiling. At no point did we... more

We had a wonderful stay in this hotel. Great location, just few minutes to the Old town, next to the shopping center (2 min.), rooms are nice and clean, and staff very pleasant. We took a taxi to the airport, reasonable prices, polite driver. Everything was just perfect. more

The hotel was situated in an excellant location only five minutes stroll to Old Town Square, it is two minutes from The Palladiun Shopping Centre which has all the shops you'd find here and some good bars and restuarants. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the breakfast was excellant and there was plenty of it. BUT when we arrived the... more

Grand old building in a brilliant location - 5 min walk to Old Town Square. The hotel is a good 30 min ride from the airport but you can arrange a pickup through the hotel's own car service (about 25 euro once converted from crown). Did this after reading about the dodginess of Prague taxi drivers.... Building is an old... more

The executive summary of this review would be the following: Do not stay at the Mercure Prague Old Town. I had booked three so called Executive Rooms for 2 nights in early December. The promised features were: Massage shower, WiFi connection for 24 hours, free pay TV and local phone calls, bathrobe and slippers, safe, minibar. Complimentary drink at the... more

I stayed in this hotel in 2005 and loved it. The service was excellent, the staff ultra helpful and polite and our room was spotless and cosy. Due to my previous pleasant experience I booked the same hotel this August. I was sooo dissapointed! The staff was indifferent or rude and there were serious cleanliness problems. I was given a... more

Sydney, Australia Stayed in this hotel for four nights with my partner and another couple. Nice room, centrally located and beautiful old building. No problems with amenities - clean and comfortable. A bit on the stingy side though with only one tea bag provided and extra charge if more were requested. Good location close to all the attractions. Main problem... more
