Merkur wasn´t easy to book, we tried few times on several online engines but no availability. Just a week before our trip to Prague we were successful. From the checkin to the checkin everything was perfect. Professional staff, nice spacious room, clean and tidy bathroom, good breakfast. Location city centre but a quiet street, short walking distance from all major... More

We stayed 3 nights, bed + breakfast. The hotel has a great location, 1min from subway station and 10min walk to Republic Square. Room was very large (it had a double bed and two single beds, even though it was just me and my wife). The bathroom was large as well. Everything was very clean!! WiFi in our room was... More

We chose Hotel Merkur for our visit to prague because of good reviews and the convenient location. We have had a comfortable 3 night stay with no major complaints. Hotel staff were graciously accommodating to our sometimes demanding requests. Restaurant however is small and choices are slightly limited. If you are planning to eat out most of the time then... Overall the hotel does the job, it is about 15/20 minutes walk to old town square, and plenty of trams nearby. The rooms were decent in size, with a free safe. There is wifi for an additional charge, which we didn't bother with, and the restaurant/bar is only open at breakfast time. The pillows were awful and really made it... More

I'd like to thank the kind staff at hotel merkur, had a good weekend stay even though the room was not quite right, food good, staff polite and within good walking distance from the main city and attractions. Very pleased, recommend however make sure your not on ground floor room 001 or 002 as you will be next to cleaners... More

I have stayed there with my girlfriend and for the price we payed it was a good deal. Close to the center and on the public transportation. We got some useful advises from the receptionist. Generally the cleaning was okay, staff was friendly and we liked breakfasts a lot. We might come again. I could recommend to couples or solo... More

I visited this hotel after recommendation of my friend and it was very good choice. Excellent service for very good value. Room was spacious, clean and well equipment. For the breakfast there was a large range of food, what I didn't see a long time. Staff was friendly helpful and always smiling. Private parking is available, so we enjoyed the... More

We got this hotel through a package deal, so I'm not sure who's fault it was that we did not get twin beds as requested, but a double. Quite crap considering I was staying with a mate. However, the following night we got a massive room to make up for it. We had to hold the shower head in the... More

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. Staff were very helpful, rooms were spacious and clean with safe and fridge. The beds were comfortable. Try and get a room at the back as there's less traffic noise. Good selection of food for breakfast, bread, baps, eggs, cereals, cheeses, meats etc. Hotel was only a 10 minute walk to some of... Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
