I stayed here on my second trip to Prague after arriving from Vienna. We had a bit of an escorted trip from the train station to the hotel and were told what to expect by our pick up (who was absolutely brilliant - but not employed by the hotel, hence the slightly lower rating on "service"). The hotel is above... More

I have just come back with my family from a 3 day stay in Meran Hotel in Prague. The hotel is well located in Wenceslas Square, so we could make all Prague walking. It takes 15 minutes walking to the Astrological Horloge and around 25 minutes walking to Charles Bridge. The hotel is clean and the breakfast is of normal... More

More than anything, the hotel is perfectly situated on Wenscelas Square, so it suited our needs really well. Straight out of the front door and in the thick of Prague. We didn't need to use a taxi or tram at all. Quite a basic bedroom, although large enough for the three days that we were there. Hotel team not overly... More

We have just returned from 4 days at the Hotel Meran. We booked this hotel on the recommendations of our daughter who stayed there 2 years ago and praised it highly for it's welcoming and friendly staff. I am pleased to say that the hotels standards have not slipped in the slightest, what fantastic hospitality. I hope that foreign travellers... More

This is a great budget option if you want to stay in the centre of Prague. I've stayed twice now and I'd certainly go back again. It is basic but spotless and the breakfast is excellent - and served up until 11am which is most civilized. Most of the staff speak English and are helpful and friendly. There is a... More

The Meran Hotel was our base for a 4 days stay in Prague last April. Although not of extremly high standards the hotel is very acceptable, there are only 20 rooms or so but the place is charming and the facade is beautiful, our room was spacious and clean and staff were very helpful. In a place like Prague you'd... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
