We stayed at the Golden Star from 25th to 27th April for a weekend city break. We loved the hotel which is in an absolute perfect location by the walls of Prague Castle. We upgraded to a deluxe room, no 35 on the third floor and had an amazing view over the red roofs and spires of the city. Arriving... More

For location, as others have said, you cannot beat this hotel. Situated on the Nerudova which, in my opinion is one of the most interesting streets in Prague, it is just a stroll down the hill to the Charles Bridge and all that the Old Town offers. A few steps up from the street and the Castle complex, which should... More

We chose to stay near the castle instead of the old town square and that was a good call. You can have the castle grounds to yourself early in the morning or late in the afternoon, and it isn't as raucous as the drinking crowds in the main square. We had a large bed in one room and a pull... More

Other than the bed being made up of a super-king-size frame, with two single mattresses on it, this hotel was the perfect place to stay. We had an amazing view (at the cost of having to walk up the hill to get to the hotel) of all the sights. Staff were very friendly and breakfast was always fresh and tasty.

If you are looking for the top....you have to stay on the top of the hill close to the castle. The taxi driver was saying to me....wow great location! In few steps you can reach the castle, the Charles Bridge and all the monuments. The hotel is in an historical green building, very elegant situation. The rooms are large. I... More

Close to the Castle! Historical building, on the top of the street Nerudova! The street si full of restaurants and shops. The taxi driver when was driving me to the hotel said to me.... Wow! Wonderful location! You're lucky! The hotel is few steps from the castle and few steps from Charles bridge. From here you can visit the city... More

I took my partner for her 30th birthday and we loved the hotel. Very friendly staff, clean and tidy rooms and couldn't be better situated. Castle right next to you, old town a 3 minute walk down the hill across the Charles bridge. Breakfast every morning is lovely. A vast range weather you want warm or cold food. Mini bar... More

We originally had a reservation for a larger chain hotel and came across this one which was much much less. The staff was awesome, the room was very quaint, and the view and location was right on. Yes, yes ,yes, there is a large hill, but you are literally under the castle walls. There are so many restaurants and shops... More

Stayed here for 3 days and it was located in the heart of mala strana, right next to the prague castle. Loved its location and its quiet ambience at night. Room was quaint and picturesque and staff was super helpful, respectful and nice. Breakfast was solid and wifi was fast. Price was amazing for what this hotel offers. Would definitely... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
