Absolutely loved staying here. The hotel is lovely and we thought the location is fantastic. A 30 second walk to the castle and various other sights on that side of the river. We liked that it was a bit quieter and felt safer than over on the other side of the river (not that we felt unsafe there). It's actually... More

This hotel is a lovely quaint place set just below the castle. The atmosphere is friendly and accommodating. The bar is a lovely meeting place. The castle area in Prague is actually fascinating in its own right. Not just because of the castle. The streets are narrow and there are some really good places to eat in the area. Spend... More

The hotel is situated next to Prague Castle and is about 10 minutes walk up the hill or down the hill to the nearest tram or metro station. While the location is good, it is the staff that made the hotel. They were all very nice and helpful. Breakfast was included in our package - it was continental (hot) and... More

This is a beautiful quirky hotel in a fantastic location. The rooms are interesting with exposed beams and well appointed fittings. The view, especially from the rooms at the front of the hotel, is stunning. It is a two minute walk from Prague Castle. All of the staff have been very friendly and helpful. The only caveats are first of... More

Room 45 on the fourth floor was wonderful, the views over the city were spectacular. The staff were friendly and helpful. Great hotel close to most attractions. Couldn't fault the food in the restaurant and breakfast was good. I would highly recommend and want to stay again.

At the top of Nerudova near the castle, from its top floors the hotel offers stunning views across the city. Excellent breakfast and very helpful staff add to the experience. A small, cozy hotel, the rooms are modern but with a period feel. We were very surprised at the good rates on offer during high tourist season.

The start of our trip to Eastern Europe and the Hotel Golden Star was a perfect choice for our first night. I do recommend a taxi or shuttle to the hotel from the airport, as the hotel is not very near public transportation. It sits on a hill directly below the Castle. It is an easy walk down hill to... Great small hotel in a wonderful location with superb views over the city. Walk down to the Charles bridge takes about 10 mins , twice as long back. Highly recommended base to explore the many beautiful and historic sights. Absinthe shop next door is an added bonus.

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
