It is recommended to travelers with little luggages since it is located on the nearly top of the steep. But I think the location is perfect because it is near to the castle(just 5 mins) and with only min walk you can view the panoramic of Prag (both near Uvoz or the castle). It is walkable to Petrin Hill if... More

The location is really great and the hotel lives off this advantage. The breakfast could be better though (fresher food, better bread, fruits etc)... As it is an old hotel, the carpets have become old and smell unpleasant. we expected much more if a four star hitel

we had a lovely room on the first floor which was beautiful and clean. Breakfast was a bit disappointing as there was not so much variety. But otherwise we recommend this beautiful place when one is in Prague. Just a few minutes from the city center.

I loved this hotel! It is located perfectly, just at the base of the castle and only a 10 minute walk to the Charles Bridge. The location around the hotel is otherwise idyllic, charming, and quaint. The view from our room (#35) was beyond words, especially at sunrise. The hotel breakfast was fairly good, which I always find to be... More

My husband and I stayed here as part of our two week European honeymoon. Typically I tend to stay in more of the "chain" hotels but our travel agent suggested the Golden Star during our Prague visit. I'm so glad we stayed here! We were met with an upgraded room with an amazing view of the city along with a... More

Right, insider tip for you after numerous dealings with such a reputable company,. Book first on a booking site at the red lion hotel which is 200 metres away across the street, then email them and say you'd like to be transferred into their sister-hotel, which is the place, the golden star. They'd rather have you go to the golden... More

Great restaurant at the top of the hill walking through the old town towards the castle. Had goulash which was just divine. Service wa good and the prices considering the location not bad. Did not stay in the hotel but it looked awesome!

Had a long weekend in Prague with my husband for my 50th birthday from 11th to 15th December. We found the hotel's staff very friendly and the hotel itself was spotless. Huge comfortable rooms and a great selection of breakfast items both hot and cold. The hotel is centrally located in the Medieval part of the city and was a... More

The Golden Star is housed in a beautiful, ancient building whose interior has been totally revanped in the last few years. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was excellent and the rooms large and comfortable. Half-way up the hill that runs from the river the hotel is at the foot of the castle steps, and if all this... More

Spend 2 nights here on a Secret Escapes package in December. Found it relatively easily - it is up a fairly long uphill road (so it will take a while if you're pulling wheelie bags like we were) and the place looks stunning from the outside. It's close to the castle / cathedral complex, and so about a twenty minute... More

Staying in Hradcany & Letna

Neighborhood Profile
Hradcany & Letna
Your experience in Prague will never be complete if you do not see it from the top. Hillsides, stretched from the west to the north, provide spectacular views of greenish copper cupolas, narrow cobblestone streets, bridges connecting both river banks and green gardens from red-roof tops of centuries-old houses. Prague pulls you into its 1300 year old history. Walking up the hill or stairs to Prague Castle, the historical seat of Czech rulers and the majestic Saint Vitus Cathedral can leave you speechless (and out of breath). Luckily, plenty of terrace cafés overlooking gardens and beautiful parks are available to provide rest and a place to catch your breath again.
