We had a small room but it was ok. Carpet worn here and it needs a good cleaning. Dining room better than good, we had dinner twice. Thomas, the head waiter, makes the place hum. Really good location, about 12 minute walk to Old Town Square.....

This was my second stay at the Esplanade (November 17-19, 2014); my room was 309. The room was small and dark and the view was of a courtyard. The bathroom was large and had a walk -in shower (which I had requested) and was clean. There was, however an absence of wash cloths and the towels were old. The breakfast... More

Now that I have your attention! I stayed at this hotel for 7 nights and was very comfortable and well looked after every minute. I had planned quite an exhausting series of tours so used the hotel for a respite and it worked well. The room was quite large very comfortable and the bathroom as I needed it. Separate shower... We stayed here while on an OAT tour of Bohemia. The hotel is lovely and the staff (who all spoke English well) was very kind and helpful. Our breakfast each morning included the usual European meats, cheeses and breads but there were also eggs, sausage, yogurt, fruit etc. One evening we were too tired to go out to dinner and... More

We very much enjoyed the personalized service, with friendly and helpful staff. The room was large and beautiful. The close proximity to the train station was ideal, as we had an early train. The elevator was a bit small, though.

The Hotel Esplanade is quite nice by European standards. This is a historic hotel that has been updated quite nicely. Our room was clean, the bathroom had good space, there was excellent closet and storage space, and the bed was amazingly comfortable. The bed won the hotel huge kudo's from us as we spent our days being active and were... More

When booking, I was thinking between Mariott and Esplanade as they are of the same price, at last booked Esplanade, because they had parking. All in all it is not bad, but there is no feeling that it is 5 star, wi-fy in my room was a problem, I was connecting only in the corridor, the hairdryer is from 20-s... More

A once top-of-the-line luxury hotel (built 1920's), now with modernized rooms but old-style charm in the restaurant and bar. Uncrowded, caters to individuals and small business groups (10 or so people), not to big tourist groups or business conventions, no shops inside the hotel. Meals were excellent. Location is a big selling point (one block from main train station which... More

We had a room in this hotel over Eastern. The rooms are spacious, nicely furnished and clean. The bathroom was fully equipped with a tub, spacious and clean. The staff was helpfull. The only negative was, that we could not turn off the heating and the AC was not working yet due to winter season. This made our room uncomfortably... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
