located in an historic building, one block from the charles bridge on side street. We had a nice stay here. Samir (manager) was very helpful and welcoming. The rooms were very tall ceiling/beams, cozy. We had a two room corner suite with a great room to relax in and a single bedroom also very nice. Location could not be better... More

We did stay for a weekend in The Charles. It is a very romantic and beautiful old Hotel. The breakfast was very good and we will come back to this place. Very nice staff and perfect location in Prague.

The Charles Hotel is perfectly located to experience the best of Prague on foot. The rooms were ample enough in size if a bit worn. The included breakfast could be upgraded but it did the job. In general, the price was reasonable for this location.

The only thing positive was the city location. High price for what you got. Rooms were nice decorated and staff was helpful. But: If you want a quiet room- forget it. Only a few rooms inside. Outside rooms very noisy near popular streets and bars and mass transit, tourist cars. If you want to open a window-HA, HA! Loud hallways... More

I wasn't sure what to expect of this hotel. The reviews on Trip Advisor were all pretty much positive but you never know until you've been there. The reviews were all pretty much spot on. It is ideally located about 100M from the Charles Bridge, St Nicholas Church and one of my favourite bars in the world - U Schnellu.... More

The Charles Hotel in Prague is a delight. The rooms are very spacious and, as the hotel dates back several hundred years, they are full of character. The staff couldn't be more helpful. It is also in a fantastic location for discovering Prague - a matter of yards from the famous Charles Bridge and a five minute walk into the... More

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, was delighted to see it was a minute away from the Charles bridge. The rooms were nice, high ceilings and spacious. The only disappointing area was the breakfast. It was very basic and didn't taste great at all. I asked for onions in my omelet....but the answer was NO. Other than the breakfast,... More

The Charles Hotel is in a great location for sightseeing and enjoying Prague on foot. Close to the Charles Bridge and Prague Castle. The staff were very pleasant and helpful with advice and booking concerts. Very pleasant clean room with character.

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
