I stayed in this hotel only one night. Before I went to sleep in the evening to an extremely hot room I had quite good feeling about the hotel (nice staff, good food) but that feeling changed with a poor quality of bed. The mattress is so hard that I couldn' t sleep at all. I would never go to... More

This is a lovely hotel in Prague within easy (15 min) walking distance to Wenceslas Square and other city sights. It is situated in a quiet residential area but still close to shops and restaurants. The room we had (308) was very clean and nicely furnished with good bathroom facilities. Tea and coffee making facilities, safe and hairdryer were all... More

I’ll try to describe the nightmare I experienced at Hotel Ametyst justly. Firstly, DO NOT stay here, they have bed bugs and don’t take the safety of their visitors seriously. Before I fell asleep, I saw one bug crawling on my comforter. Later I saw more and coming out of the pillows and bed. Upon closer inspection I realized they... More

Dear rockypi, thank you for your time posting the review and mentioning the convinient location of the hotel Ametyst. Although this hotel is clean and as mentioned in other reviews has a very good breakfast selection I disagree it is four star, the rooms are basic. We were charged £10 for wifi for three days and if you order a taxi through the hotel it is three times the price of using AAA taxi!!! We had dinner in the... More

Yes, this is a wonderful city to visit and we were glad we stayed at Hotel Ametyst. The breakfast was interesting and fun, the rooms and gathering areas were clean and neat and the service was friendly. The 'bath/shower' was a bit unusual for us, not sure why but the floor of the shower was several inches above the ground... More

Stayed 3 days on our first trip to Prague. Hotel was part of a package, and turned out to be very good. We will certainly return. Position is very good, in a quiet locality, but easy walking distance of Wenceslas Square. Metro and tram stop are nearby, but hotel has a private hire driver at end of telephone, who can... More

This is a very nice hotel, in a good location. The staff are efficient and unobtrusive and the breakfast is excellent. The first night of our stay in Prague we had dinner in the hotel, the food and drink was good, and reasonably priced. The Ametyst is far enough away from the centre to be quiet, but an easy walk... Staying in Vinohrady & Vrsovice

Neighborhood Profile
Vinohrady & Vrsovice
Compared to the medieval heart of Prague, this neighborhood standing on former vineyards developed very quickly in the first decades of the 19th century. Today, it is the place where everyone wants to live, and those who do, are proud of it. With its amazing parks, classicist houses, terrace cafés, artsy bars, cozy restaurants, markets, and vintage and trendy shops, it is a home for people from all around the world. This area blends expats, families, bohemian students and Prague’s hip community. It is a great place for breakfast in the morning, the best lunch places and a buzzing night life. After sundown, stroll down to Vršovice, the new center of the hipster, alternative and gay scenes in Prague.
