Location ok, 15 min walk to Vaclavske sq and Staromestske sq. Overall, it was acceptable but for 4-star rating you would expect better comfort and service. Despite modern windows, you hear all sounds from the street. And, room was very cold (we stayed in Jan). Radiators were lukewarm. We stayed there 5 nights. Every morning we complained to manager, received... More

Stayed for a business trip more than a week. My room was a double room for single use, because I was hoping for a little more space. Had a room under the roof, very cozy, but still small, as so many hotels try to maximize the number of rooms. Nice modern bathroom, furniture a little aged, but not worn. International... More

I managed to score a room in the roof, it was a split level room, with a sitting area on the higher section and a comfortable bed in the lower section. The bathroom was well equipped and we were snug and warm the whole time even though it was sub zero outside. Breakfast was included and provided an adequate first... More

Pros: location (a bit far but within walking distance from the old town; plenty of eateries and supermarkets nearby), excellent room comfort (except for the bathroom), reasonable breakfast, good WiFi, fair price Cons: dated bathroom (handheld shower only), sustained highway noise, indifferent staff, dubious hygiene in the breakfast room, expensive parking (though in fairness this is the case throughout central... CURRENTLY staying at the Hotel Opera as part of a seven day business trip in Prauge. We selected this hotel due to the location and the positive reviews on hotels.com where we booked. I now regret this and have five more days of this poor service in front of me. First. Breakfast. This hotel has well over a hundred rooms.... More

Good morning, we are really sorry that you were disappointed with your stay. Please let me explain some of your complaints: Regarding our breakfast room, the capacity is 50 seats in the main room + 20 seats in the next room. We do not have more than 100 rooms as you mentioned, but only 67 rooms. On the morning of... More

A crowd of nine of us went for a long "bargain" weekend away. The hotel is clean, comfortable and above all (on the hottest weekend of the year) air-conditioned. The breakfast is really only OK and they could perhaps top up the drinks more regularly. All in all a very reasonably priced stay but it is a good 20 minute... More

We stayed in the Hotel Opera four nights in August during a heat wave. Thankfully, the AC worked quite well or this trip would have been miserable. The room room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully furnished - my favorite feature was the well stocked/priced mini bar. Location was ideal for public transportation which was just outside the front door. Parking... More

For Just one night you can survive. The hotel is furnished in a rather depressing style and staff not particularly kind. Position would be ok as it is only 10 mins walk from the city center, but bear in mind it's just in front of a 4 lanes road that crosses Prague. It is impossible to keep the window open... More

Average hotel, but with good amenities in the room, large bathroom, excellent breakfast, wifi, restaurant and bar, and at walking distance from metro and tram station and from the city center. Be aware that the windows are not soundproof and the street might be noisy. The elevator is extremely small, just for one guest with luggage.

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
