We stayed in the Hotel Opera four nights in August during a heat wave. Thankfully, the AC worked quite well or this trip would have been miserable. The room room was comfortable, clean, and tastefully furnished - my favorite feature was the well stocked/priced mini bar. Location was ideal for public transportation which was just outside the front door. Parking... More

For Just one night you can survive. The hotel is furnished in a rather depressing style and staff not particularly kind. Position would be ok as it is only 10 mins walk from the city center, but bear in mind it's just in front of a 4 lanes road that crosses Prague. It is impossible to keep the window open... More

Average hotel, but with good amenities in the room, large bathroom, excellent breakfast, wifi, restaurant and bar, and at walking distance from metro and tram station and from the city center. Be aware that the windows are not soundproof and the street might be noisy. The elevator is extremely small, just for one guest with luggage.

It was a sweet family run hotel. Location - great as it was comfortable distance from the touristy place not too far not too close. Tram stop right outside. The Metro station was near. The receptionist was a great help with regards to queries about travel and even did a restaurant reservation for us. We had a good 2 night... More

Hotel Opera is very good, excellent breakfast, convenient location, cleanliness. 2 minutes from the metro and from the center. I strongly advise. BUT: in the room for 8 days, despite tipping the maid is not cleaned even once. The windows are located or the highway, or on the wall of the courtyard. And despite the early booking and payment (4... More

I stayed there for a week while attending a conference in Prague. It is conveniently located close to the old town and still on the border to a normal living area which gives the opperetunity to get a little closer to 'daily life'. Easy acces via public transportation , including airport connection. The staff is nice and friendly. I only... More

Really cute and confortable hotel... And honest price! Room very clean. Staff very friendly! My friends and I had a nice stay! On out next trip to Praha we would be happy to stay at Opera again! The only thing we did not enjoy was the shower... As we had to hold it with one hand and take our bath... More

Opera Hotel is a traditional beautiful building in the heart of Prague next to tram stations, metros and Bus stations (to other european cities). The location isn't the only great thing about this hotel, great rooms, like royalty furniture, good varied breakfast and helpful staff... For the price, (we booked early), I can honestly say this was a great hotel... More

I liked the hotel in general. The room I had was large and comfortable with a great price. The room itself oozes Czech old-style yet has modern comfort. The wifi is very good Most staff was helpful, specifically the lady that checked me out was wonderful. The hotel is on the edge of the old city and was for my... More

Possible to get non smoking rooms, nice and clean rooms, but a bit much noise through the window from the main road, simple breakfast but okay. Real close to tram. Real close to old town, take only around 10 - 15 min to walk to center of old town and the Charles Bridge.

Thank you for your guest review. We hope you slept well, despite the noise from the street. Unfortunately we are not able to do anything about it. This is the cost for the location in the city center. More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
