When I rarely encounter a manager something went adrift. Such the case at check in at the Josef. On the negative side the reception staff is clueless in Prague at the Josef. Perhaps cultural as the Czechs are pensive and barely emotive. Problem was locating my reservation made 6 months ago. When found I was ushered to room next to... More

We stayed at the Design Hotel Josef in July 2015 for 4 nights as a part of our family trip to Czech Republic. The hotel was absolutely wonderful! Really stylish and ultra-modern. We loved our rooms and the bathroom design was fab! Breakfast was superb with excellent choice of cold and hot meals. The bar area downstairs was so beautiful... More

It's a cute boutique hotel, fab location. Can walk within the Old Town from here. Lots of things I don't like about the room. The bathroom is ridiculous. All glass, frosted or not, annoying step up into bathroom with sliding mirror door. The toilet has its own door in this area and makes as much noise as an ocean liner.... More

The hotel staff are awesome, the breakfast is tasty, the rooms and facilities clean. The hotel is centrally located and it's easy to get to/from most attractions in the city. This is our second stay at this location, the first was the same as this (4 yrs prior), I'd recommend this hotel to friends and family traveling to Prague.

We stayed there a couple of nights. The hotel is pretty enough and it's trying (too) hard to be fashionable. We had two quiet nights though and it was clean. Great location too. However the bathroom is an absolute nightmare. All made of glass, it looks pretty as you walk in but it's incredibly impractical, especially at night. And forget... More

- Hotel is very conveniently located. Safe area. Minutes from the Old Town Square. Fairly close walk to the train station. I came in by airport taxi for the equivalent of $8CDN or so. Public transport from the airport involved a bus and transfer to subway. - I booked via Hotels.com looking for the least expensive rate with a good... More

The best part of this hotel was the location. Its close to the old town which was great. I did not try their breakfasts as I found them too expensive compared to restaurants in the old Town. Instead I had breakfasts at different restaurants each morning and I always paid less then what the hotel charges...sure it wasn't buffet but... More

The hotel is a lot of glass, the lobby as well as the room. The personnel is great, real helpful and friendly. The hotel has a large breakfast restaurant but you can have the breakfast outside as well which is really nice. The breakfast buffet has a lot of choices and there is a menu from which you can choose... More

Stayed for 3 nights with my family on a short break to Prague and just loved this hotel. The location of the hotel is great with the old town square and several bars and restaurants just a short walk away. The Palladium mall and the Municipal House are also very close and the main starting points for several city tours.... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
