I will fondly remember my stay at Unitas for quite some time. In my opinion, the location is ideal away from the hustle and bustle of the city and its countless tourists and close to subway (Narodni trida and Mustek) and tram stations (Narodni divadlo). In fact, I would say it's a bit hidden on a very quiet street and... More

Location perfect. Quiet street. Staff perfect. Breakfast fabulous. Internet in the room. Yes. the bottom sheet was a little rough so I wore socks. The coffeemaker was down the hall as opposed to inside the room (which is something that is usually very, very important to me) but even that did not bother me because compared to what might have... Very comfortable stay. Wonderful breakfast. Great location. We were surprised to learn that the hotel had not only been a convent but had also been a prison where Vaclav Havel was once held. The only minor criticism is that the shower door was not exactly waterproof; we had to do some finagling to avoid making a puddle; but this was... More

The first thing any potential guest needs to understand is that this isn't a building that started life as a hotel. Rather, it was a convent built in the 1800s that was confiscated by the secret police during the years that the former Czechslovakia was under Communist rule and then left to fall into disrepair. It was then returned to... More

We went to this hotel because of its location and history ( previously a convent and the HQ of the secret police). The staff were excellent - friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very good and in a nice room. Bathroom had lots of lovely hot water. However, I didn't like the room or the corridors. We were told we... More

Nice room, friendly service & great breakfast. Outside space could be a bit better; courtyard serves also as a small parking. Ancient building set on an absolutely perfect location. Could use a little bit more decoration. We woke up too early because of the sun coming through the curtains... We fully enjoyed our four days in Prague, thanks to this... More

Located opposite the Police headquarters the building was originally home to the largest and wealthiest Nunnery in the country - there is an old print of the Mother Superior's car parked outside her private entrance. The Nunnery was closed by the communists, and now is a hotel, although the Chapel next door is still in use. Within minutes of our... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
