Did not know about this hotel prior to my visit, was pleasantly surprised. The service was very good, the rooms clean and comfortable and the breakfast was very good as well. If you expect to have a workout while you are there you will need toga short distance to the sister hotel Joseph, which seems to be a very hip... More

This hotel cares at every detail levels. Long breakfast hours, help yourself bar, free business center with printer and papers. Room design is good. Instead of a closet, they use shelves without doors. Easy to ensure we didn't leave anything behind on the last day. I will definitely pick Maximilan again if I were in Prague again.

After combing the internet, reading reviews and of course my favorite - tripadvisor, my wife and I decided to stay at the Maximilian for our 32 anniversary trip. Again, tripadvisor did it again. Perfect! The communication over emails, when reserving, was accurate, prompt and professional The service we got was more than expected (and we have experience....) We arrived relatively... More

We hadn't been to noisy, boisterous and at last on the last occasion, grubby Prague for a few years. We arrived by rail after a long trip from Rouen, involving an overnight sleeper train for the last stage, from Mannheim. The trundle from the station wasn't the easiest (but far from the worst) at about 30 mins, with cobblestones. My... More

Location is it's best thing. But also it's just off the center heart of the town so walkable to most everywhere. There's a little restaurant for Czech food behind the cathedral right infront of the hotel entrance (the Red Wheel - can't miss the red wagon wheel sign). The rooms are basic but very functional. FREE wifi! I'm a sucker... More

We really thought we lucked out with this hotel. Staff most helpful and efficient. Buffet breakfast very fresh with everything you could think of for breakfast including a menu to order from Quiet neighbourhood in old town close to everything except the crowds! Rooms clean, linens lovely, shower amazing. Loved this hotel.

At first we were given a different room from what we booked. It was smaller and had no bed for our daughter. We asked for a different room and were apologetically told that no other room was available that night, but they were going to move us to a different room next day, which they did. They quickly provided an... More

Just come back from 5 nights at the Maximilian, excellent hotel in prime location. Stayed in a superior room which, although not huge, was plenty big enough for the 2 of us (and much larger than anywhere you get in London!). Staff were friendly and attentive (goes without saying that they all spoke perfect English!), breakfast was very good with... More

A great location near Old Town. Breakfast was good with many choices. Most of the staffs were friendly. Some of the facilities in the room were dated. The air conditioning was not powerful enough in a hot Prague afternoon. Our room was right across from the elevator so it was noisy at times.

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
