I traveled with a few friends to Prague. If you are staying at a hostel, The Charles Bridge Economic Hostel is essential. We were immediately welcomed with coffee and water. Our room was simple and clean. The staff were kind, and provided good recommendations for entertainment and restaurants. Also, the hostel provided printers for those who forgot to previously print... I stayed here for a few days over New Year's and it was a great experience. The guy who checked me in was extremely nice! They have a lot of amenities and take good care of you--free bottled water, coffee, hot chocolate, guide book, free wifi, ATM in reception area, etc. They run a travel desk as well, and you... More

We were treated very well as guests- the amenities for our stay were excellent. Free laundry, free coffee and free guidebooks and maps for our stay in Prague! There was even a kitchen for a makeshift dinner and free computers for use, which we used to book tickets and gather information for our trip. This was also an excellent location,... More

My title should say it all - but to spell it out. This is an incredible find in a really great location - right on the Charles bridge! On the website they give you great directions to get there by public transport and when you get there, you're greeted with the great (free! unlimited! Nespresso!) hot chocolate or coffee and... The gentlemen who run this hostel are so gracious and solicitous of every guests needs! They know everything about Prague and since the desk area is also a tourists bureau they can hook you up with any type of activity you would like to try. Since the hostel is 2 doors away from the little quarter towers of Charles bridge... More

My highest recommendation for this hostel. The rooms are spacious, friendly, social, and so pretty. There are plugs for every bed. The staff is the most helpful and accommodating I have ever seen. There is an adorable cat and free espresso and water too. The best thing about this hostel is how open and airy it feels. Very aesthetically pleasing.... More

Really twenty metres far away from Charles Bridge, owners and their jobmates are really nice! Wifi cat and Charles the dog are a plus too, as is a big plus the bar immediately close to the hostel with good beers. Perfect wifi too, only minus probably is a little bit expensive for backpackers, but I definitely recommend it since location... More

The location of this hostel is perfect. It's right on the edge of the St. Charles Bridge and just steps away from a super lively area and excellent public transit. The staff was great, service was excellent. It's a very trendy spot, I think the desk staff mentioned to me that the building was from the 14th century or something... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
