We stayed here for three nights last May for my partners 30th. I mentioned this when ordering to the hotel staff who arranged for a birthday cake and a special local drink to be supplied in our room for a small fee. Our hotel room was absolutely stunning and the location is perfect. Right next to Prague Castle and just... More

We had a room on the top floor with exposed beams/rafters. The room was very spacious, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bathroom was large and modern. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful and friendly. There were only a couple of minor things that were not so good, the snacks at the mini bar seemed very... More

The hotel was beautiful and the room was lovely - but it was 2 single beds that were pushed together for a double and would easily push apart which made it not so comfortable. The location was great. The restaurant was average, not bad but nothing amazing

We stayed at the Bijou de Prague and loved every minute. We had the top floor room with beams and antique furniture adding to the quirking atmosphere and enjoyable setting. The room was maintained daily and the staff were extremely helpful. Thanks to all for making our stay in Prague so enjoyable. The only downside, the Prague bin men empty... More

We loved this quaint hotel. We stayed in the Karel Suite in the 3rd Fl and our teenagers were in the Mozart suite on the 2nd Fl. There are only 6 suites in this 3-story hotel. The Karel was awesome...big, spacious!

Excellent location just below Prague Castle. Delightful old building in excellent state of repair with uniquely decorated, very spacious and well appointed rooms. Exquisite painted wooden ceilings dating back to the 14th century. Comfortable king-sized bed. Air conditioning ( a must when we were in Prague and the temperature climbed to 37 celsius!) Well run too - as illustrated when... More

First trip to Prague. This hotel is close to the Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral, but a good walk to the old town. There are some pros and some cons: Pros: Huge room. We were in the Karel suite. It had windows opening on to the busy street below, and I worried about the noise, but after about 10 p.m.... More

The Prague Bijou is well-placed being situated just under the castle. The hotel itself is lovely, clean with good decor and very helpful, friendly staff. Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
