Stayed for 3 nights, nice hotel, surprised with how old it was on arrival. In a quiet location but very close to everything! 5/10 minute walk to old town square. Breakfast was a small spread of meats, cheeses, breads, cereal and omelette ....

This older hotel is on a very quiet street in the "New Town" area of Prague. An adequate breakfast buffet was included, and we got good service from the front desk when we had a minor maintenance problem in the room. The hotel is near several good restaurants. It is also near a trolley line although we enjoyed walking to... More

By far the largest room we've ever stayed in felt like it had two wings. Beds are comfortable and the room is clean. There are some odd quirks like a kettle but no tea or coffee, there is no shower but a massive bath. The decor is not to everyone's taste but reminds me of an old b and b... More

The hotel was older building, but the room was bigger than I had expected. We had our own kitchen, bathroom and in our room would have fit a two other people sleeping. Room also had a safe. Breakfast was good. There was bread, cereal, yoghurt, cake, fruits, sausage, eggs, coffee, tea and juice. It was good thing, since my boyfriend... More

I have just come back from a 3 night stay at the Donatello Prague. The location was in the area Prague 2 and although about a 20 minute walk to the busier area of Old Town and the square it was a lovely walk through the different districts. The breakfast platters were something to be desired but as expected for... More

I booked this hotel not knowing what to expect, but the price was what I wanted to pat, and the fact that it was in Zone 2 was also a plus. I mailed them to have me collected from the airport, (we all know how dodgy Prague taxi drivers are!) and within 24 hours, they mailed me back with confirmation... More

Ok the good points. The hotel is in a reasonably good location in the New Town about 15 minutes walk from Hlavni Nadrazi main station. It is on a quiet street off the main road, which is ideal for catching tram 22 which takes you to the Petrin funicular and Prague Castle complex. The room is very basic and a... More

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights at the end of October, the room was good but also tired and shabby. It didn't bother me but Emma moaned a bit, the room had a kitchen with a fridge, 1/2hob & full size sink. A large stand alone wardrobe with enough room for a good weeks worth of clothes,... More

First, some positive: Nice, helpful front staff with basic or good English. Hearty breakfast with wide selection of cheese and sausages; scrambled eggs, cereals, fruits etc; 3 diff. juices, wide tea selection, but only instant (powder) coffee. TV has several english channels, including BBC and CNN. Small refrigerator in the room. Great location for sightseeing: ~5-10 min. walk to old... More

please, avoid by all means this hotel. Just the fact this hotel it is categorized as a 4 starts it is simply a joke. I am coming to prague quite often, and I usually look for kind of budget hotels. In the range of 30 to 60 euros during the low season and because the concurrence it is so large... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
