We were greeted by Jana at reception who was very nice and very helpful and we were offered a glass of wine on arrival which a nice touch. The room was perfect and the terrace bar had a perfect view (although unfortunately this was not open when we were there). The location is ideal between Old Town Square and the... More

We stayed here at the beginning of May and it's hard to find fault with the rooms or the service. We were able to check in quickly and found that our room was enormous! We had booked a family room and were pleasantly surprised to find it had a separate living room that contained two day beds set up for... More

We booked this hotel for three nights particularly because of the location, just round the corner from the Powder Tower situated on the edge of the Old Town's pedestrian area. Close to everything within walking distance. We walked everywhere from the hotel and we did not have to take any sort of transportation to anywhere. On arrival we were warmly... More

Very pleasant stay. Very good and helpful fronhouse staff. Nice interior, comfortable beds. Clean and bright. Excellent breakfast. In the middle of everything you need for your first visit to Prague. Would definitely recommend and stay there next time I'll visit this beautiful city.

This is an extremely comfortable hotel in the center of Old Town. It has all the amenities that you would expect, including an excellent restaurant; and is in easy walking distance from Municipal Hall, the Estates Theater and other concert venues as well as the many restaurants in Old Town. Staff was unfailingly pleasant and competent.

Lovely clean and modern rooms in an older building, both times mine have been large though one had a slightly quirky bathroom and separate toilet. Brightly lit but with dimmers if you want a warmer glow, the rooms are great, the hotel is quiet even though in town and the hotel receptionists are also great and speak English well. The... More

Good location. Nice service. On our second day when we came back to the room it was not clean at all, no duvet cover. After we mentioned it to the reception the day after everything was clean and neat. Recommended, But a bit over pricing

I stayed at the Barcelo Old Town Praha for a weekend trip with friends earlier this month. I can not say enough good things about this hotel! The service was excellent and we were each given a welcome glass of sparkling wine on arrival. The location is perfect for sight seeing, it is minutes away from the old town square,... More

Pros Impressive building, right in the heart of the city, near to a number of great bars and restaurants. The hotel has been sympathetically renovated recently. Room was large and spotlessly clean. Bed has a nice firm mattress. Bathroom has a shower cubicle and no bath. Good breakfast. Cons Internet access is painfully slow. Probably OK for a tourist trip but... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
