Built inside an old monastery, The Augustine is a character-fueled hotel fitting ideally with Praha’s magical old center. The quality of the rooms and service goes beyond what your dollar could afford elsewhere. You arrive through an innocuous little alley at the end of which a pleasant courtyard and the hotel’s polite staff welcomes you. Because it is set in... More

From the moment we stepped into this hotels quiet, elegance we were immediately relaxed and comfortable. Our complimentary champagne on arrival certainly helped. Everyone was very polite and helpful. Our room was spacious and airy. It was a joy to stroll thru the public areas of this hotel. The lounge has some interesting artwork. We were close to all the... More

This was my first trip to Prague (lovely city, but a tourist Mecca). After fighting the throngs to get across the Charles Bridge, we reveled in the serenity that this hotel exudes. The facility is spotless and the creature comforts delightful. The staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. We have had the good fortune to stay at several properties rated... More

My family and I had lunch at the hotel restaurant and later that day coffee and tea at the hotel's bar. The food was fabulous and the service top notch. The hotel decor is fantastic and all the staff amazing. We definitely plan to return for at least a night. We were with our two small children and the hotel... More

Quick weekend break with the family over Easter. Had connecting rooms which worked out brilliantly. Very tasteful decor, spacious rooms & bathrooms, friendly staff & impeccable service, excellent food. Great location, slightly away from the old town and the hustle and bustle, but still within easy walking distance. Would go back just for the hotel!

A lovely oasis amidst the sometimes crowded city. Exceedingly friendly and helpful staff (thank you Monica & Hanna for your attentiveness and care). Rooms are large & very comfortable. Bathrooms are spacious. Even though this former monastery has about 100 rooms, you rarely see other guests. Bar is perfect for unwinding. Would highly recommend to anyone seeking some quiet space... What a beautiful hotel. It gracefully combines old and new -- the castle view rooms are to die for. Wonderful and friendly service; a great location; and terrific food in the hotel restaurant. This is not a bargain hotel but it is worth every cent.

partially embedded in an old monastery, you keep the essentiality and leave the poverty. Spacious rooms, with huge bathrooms, comfy sofas ( the executive rooms), excellent linens. Very attentive room service. Only minor: too soft matresses and pillows. Overall excellent!

It was really hard to find the hotel ( or cab drivers were just cheating ) but the facility was very modern although it was a monastery before. Location is better than expected old city is in 2 mins walking distance . Charles bridge and old town square took me just 10 mins by walk. Staff was very very friendly... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
