5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

I was going back and forth on hotels in Prague and selected another hotel after they offered me a better room rate. I was also nervous about the other posters comments about the tram noise. I wish I would have chosen the Saint Augustine. I can't comment on the rooms, but I can comment on the public spaces, the location,... More

My wife and stayed here for our yearly Christmas gettaway. We do are best to travel the world, and always stay in the nicer hotels. This may very well be the nicest hotel in which we have stayed. Our suite we very spacious and well appointed. The bathrooms were luxurious, and the hotel grounds were kept in imaculate condition. The... More

I travelled to the Augustine for business (it was my first trip to Prague). What a beautiful hotel with service to match! The hotel is in an old monastery, situated just below the castle. Although it is centrally located (walking distance to all the main attractions), it is an oasis of calm and quiet after the bustle of the centre... More

Converted from an old monastery to a modern hotel within the last five years or so; this lovely property was a great choice for our family vacation to Prague in June, 2015. The location is ideal with a great view of Prague castle from our window. Their outdoor lounge and dining are not only exclusive, but also inviting. Don't miss... More

The interiors were very stylish and helped to make our stay aesthetically pleasant. The room was well-decorated and well-equipped. There was enough space and a everything we needed was provided. The biggest disadvantage were the doors to the bathroom, which do not really count for doors and do not conceal anything. There is also no door between two rooms in... More

I initially paid to stay in the Mark Luxury Hotel in Prague, but due to a booking error, was politely requested to stay in the Augustine instead. Thank goodness for the error as my 1 night stay in the Augustine was fantastic. I was upgraded to a suite which was spacious and beautifully decorated - much the same as the... More

The Augustine gets a 5 star + for aesthetics (a fantastic, serene, modern remodel of an old monastery with the most beautiful materials and the highest quality construction) and for staff friendliness. However, our experience of the service was barely a 3. Upon checking in, I asked what the options were for our room assignment and stated that I wanted... More

As the room we checked in had a plumbing problem, the manager upgraded us to a suite to compensate for the inconvenience even though we would have been happy with an equivalent-sized room. All personnel from the restaurant, the reception, doormen, and concierge were very courteous and greeted us whenever we entered or exited the hotel. The rooms are clean... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
