The location is wonderful, even though it's on a small street with a train, it is near embassies and protected behind walls. It's a short walk to the river, castles, and old town. The restaurant is on the fancier side but even for a quick breakfast we felt completely comfortable. Be sure to try the St Augustine beer, it's fantastic,... More

A beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The staff are very polite & nothing is to much trouble. The rooms are of excellent standards. Breakfast is also wonderful with plenty of choice. When we return to Prague , this hotel will be our number one choice.

I picked this hotel thinking it was still part of Rocco Forte's chain. I was fully expecting a drop in standards when I learn it wasn't any more. I need not have worried. Everything was perfect. There wasn't any aspect that I could criticise. The position is wonderful, the rooms beautiful, well appointed and best of all (for me!) wonderfully... More

Wonderful location in a part of the old Augustinian abbey in hte old city of Prague. Everything is as you would expect for a 5 star hotel. The great bonus is the location, and the chance to take a tour of the abbey with a monk. We got to see the library, 500-year old manuscripts, the kind of things that... More

Everything about this hotel was pretty spot on. Location was just over the river about 15 minutes walk from the castle but nicely off the main thoroughfare. Room size was decent, not huge and the castle view was ok but not sure I'd pay the extra( the windows are quite small due to the best views being from the upper... More

We booked the The Augustine from the Tripadvisor recommendation and we were not disappointed. From the initial welcome to the hotel tour the staff were very friendly and very professional. Our room was large and comfortable and nicely decorated. The resturant breakfast was great with a choice of continental buffet or hot cooked from the menu. The hotel arranged a... More

First class hotel and staff. Delightful rooms, beautiful building and great breakfast. This hotel was converted from a monastery to a modern hotel with big hallways, art pieces and a fabulous spa with steam room and showers.

From the moment we arrived, The Augustine was something special. The reception staff was pleasant, helpful and courteous and that continued throughout our stay and through the other hotel departments. This staff is well trained and very professional. Even though the location is great and central to public transportation, it manages to be quiet, calm and serene.....maybe because it was... More

Staying in Mala Strana (Little Quarter)

Neighborhood Profile
Mala Strana (Little Quarter)
Malá Strana is one of the oldest and the most beautiful neighborhoods in the city. Nestled underneath Prague Castle it was once a part of the Kings route taken by future kings on their way to coronation - originating in the Old Town, crossing Charles Bridge and leading to Saint Vitus Cathedral. Cobblestone streets are lined with picturesque medieval houses, remarkable palaces, churches, kitsch shops and restaurants. Do not hesitate to turn a corner into any narrow street. You will suddenly find yourself in a calm and charming neighborhood full of hidden gardens, parks with peacocks, fruit trees and ponds. As the neighborhood is a home to Czech Parliament and many ministries, you can also run into well-dressed officials. If you are thirsty or hungry, it is the right place to be. Restaurants offer delicious traditional food and of course, the best Czech beers.
