Hostel Downtown was amazing!! All the staff are great and they make Prague really feel like home. I was here for an entire week and it was wonderful. They have great suggestions for places to see and recommendations for tours, restaurants, etc. The events were also a lot of fun, I participated in the potluck and beer tasting with Brent,... More

This hostel is great value for money if you're looking for a place to stay for a short trip to Prague. Hostel DownTown has a great location and most attractions and sights are in walking distance. The rooms are clean and have everything you would expect in a hostel room. The hostel has everything a hostel should have, but the... More

Over the last few months I've bounced from hostel to hostel, however this is by far the best one I've stayed in. If you're travelling solo never fear, Downtown will have a warm welcoming for you. The staff have amazing English skills and will go out of their way to help you. Everyday the hostel has free (to very cheap)... More

This hostel ticks all the boxes. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and the facilities are modern. Highlights include the free hostel dinner and the walking tours by Mirek & Sanka. They helped solo travellers, like myself, to meet others and have a fun time. Thanks and I'm sure I'll be back!

Out of all the hostels I have ever stayed in, I have to say, the Hostel Downtown in Prague was easily one of my favorites. It had the perfect balance between the family-like vibes that some hostels have to the more outgoing/friendly vibes others have. Gil Conti leads a couple different amazing tours and knows so much about the city.... More

We arrived late but someone was at the front desk and it was really easy to check in. We had a 4 bed private room and it was huge! Great location, and everything we asked for (hairdryer, converter, towel) was available at the desk. The people who work there are really cool and very friendly, they always had suggestions. They... Nice stay. We booked a double with private bathroom. When we arrived, our room had a "private" bathroom that was only accessible with our room key cards, but we had to cross the hall to get to it. Staff were very accommodating and provided a new room with a bathroom in the suite, which is what we reserved. Nice communal... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
