I recently stayed at Hostel Downtown in Prague and loved the experience. The hostel was very reasonably priced. Myself and two friends stayed in the 3 person ensuite on the 4th floor. The room was great, high ceilings, and clean mattresses and sheets. The hostel is in a great location. The staff was incredible. Each member combines for a great... More

I stayed in this hostel in a group of 3 in a private room. This is a great little hostel with a fantastic vibe, and a great location - about 10-15 minutes away from the Old Town, and Charles Bridge pretty much around the corner! There is also a Tesco nearby for you to pick up groceries. Staff was great... More

Good location, walking distance to a lot of the main attractions in Prague. Friendly front-desk staff, beer tour with Gil was fun. Good hostel for meeting people. I checked out to go to a hostel in another part of the city, but came back to this one the next night.

The hostel has such a welcoming atmosphere with great people. The prices are quite affordable not to say too cheap. The breakfast is quite nice and delicious. Besides, the activities promoted by the staff are quite interesting like the "Beer tasting" and the tour guided by Gil, a very friendly and funny figure, who has a broad knowledge about every... Great place for students! I would not recommend this place if you want something romantic, but great simple place. + clean rooms (except the carpets) + close to metro, tram, shops and sights. + kitchen with all you need close to the lobby. - Can get noisy

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
