Location is perfect and for the price you can't complain. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are good and practical, not 5 star quality but you can't expect that for the price. If you are travelling on a budget and want a nice friendly hostel this is the place for you. I've stayed in the dorms and the private rooms... More

This hostel has good prices for private rooms, so is good if you're travelling as a couple. The location is pretty central and easy to get to all the major places in Prague. We did have trouble when we arrived as we were supposed to check in at 2 but weren't allowed to until 4 because they were cleaning the... More

I'll start with one of the only good things about this hostel; the location is pretty good. And the staff were okay too, not too friendly or helpful, but we got a free map so it wasn't too bad. We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and stayed in 2 different rooms because they messed up our booking. We... More

We stayed here primarily for the cheap, yet still private, rooms. They were pretty good considering the price. The staff were helpful too (with great free maps!). They also offer a cheap (cheaper than taxi rates) transfer to and from the airport (with a really lovely chap running it). For a good, cheap, basic stay - I'd definitely recommend it.

This is a cheap hostel, not a 5* hotel, so my initial expectations were rather low - fortunately, our 5-night stay at Emma turned out to be a pleasant experience. The location is brilliant - all the best tourist attractions are within walking distance of the object, so we did not use the subway to sightsee at all. The staff... More

Not too bad. Not too great. The location is pretty nice. Near the Metro and tram stops. Mini markets are all around. A basic hostel where you get a decent sleep. Designated bathrooms with showers. Cooking in their kitchen could be a little tight. There is not much space in the stove. But the dining area is pretty spacious. They... More

I spent the weekend in the Emma hostel with my friends and it was okay, but I didn't like the standard of the hostel - the cabinets were broken, the bathrooms should have been cleaned more times per day, good advise for a stuff at the reception - more smiling! ;) great location- just few minutes to the city center... We spent in this hostel 2 nights because of our visit of Prague. One of the advantages is the location of the hostel - it's really near the city center so we could go by foot everywhere. The disadvantage is the condition of the rooms and showers - I mean, it was really clean and everything but still, it was... More

Good value. Very average. No ambiance. Some what clean. Very basic hostel. Down stairs smells a bit moldy. The receptionist was nice. Very good location . The crowd seemed older and more reserved . Good place to crash.

1. Extremely unfriendly and unhelpful staff. When asked for good restaurants we were told to just go anywhere. 2. Extremely small room with heater on all day (couldnt turn it off) 3. Small, uncomfortable, noisy beds. If you weren't drunk enough before going to bed you would wake up with pain all over your body or no sleep at all,... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
