It was the worst holidays ever - thanks to Emma hostel. In our room - I'm not even joking - there were bed bugs. I was lying in bed and then suddenly I felt really itchy. Then I opened mu eyes and what I saw crawling on the wall near my head curdled my blood. It was a massive bed... More

Hostel Emma is walking diustance from Karlovo Namesti station with the famous "Dancing house" building being its landmark and is situated on a inclined road opposite to "Dancing House".. Entered the hostel building and after the normal registration formalities was shown my accommodation which was underground in the basement of the building. It was a 8 bed mixed dormitory room with... The hostel itself is good, staff is really nice and helpful, our room (8 person dorm) was really clean so our stay overall was nice. Location is also quite good, not that far from the city centre. There was really hot water in the shower whit good pressure and that's good. WIFI was good as well. Hostel was really cheap... More

Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, giving us a map and showing us where to go in the city. Room was spacious for the price and showers were great too. Great location also. Very good for the price altogether, would recommend staying here if interrailing/travelling ...

Location is perfect and for the price you can't complain. Staff are friendly and helpful. Rooms are good and practical, not 5 star quality but you can't expect that for the price. If you are travelling on a budget and want a nice friendly hostel this is the place for you. I've stayed in the dorms and the private rooms... More

This hostel has good prices for private rooms, so is good if you're travelling as a couple. The location is pretty central and easy to get to all the major places in Prague. We did have trouble when we arrived as we were supposed to check in at 2 but weren't allowed to until 4 because they were cleaning the... More

I'll start with one of the only good things about this hostel; the location is pretty good. And the staff were okay too, not too friendly or helpful, but we got a free map so it wasn't too bad. We stayed in this hostel for 3 nights and stayed in 2 different rooms because they messed up our booking. We... More

We stayed here primarily for the cheap, yet still private, rooms. They were pretty good considering the price. The staff were helpful too (with great free maps!). They also offer a cheap (cheaper than taxi rates) transfer to and from the airport (with a really lovely chap running it). For a good, cheap, basic stay - I'd definitely recommend it.

This is a cheap hostel, not a 5* hotel, so my initial expectations were rather low - fortunately, our 5-night stay at Emma turned out to be a pleasant experience. The location is brilliant - all the best tourist attractions are within walking distance of the object, so we did not use the subway to sightsee at all. The staff... More

Staying in Nove Mesto (New Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Nove Mesto (New Town)
Nearly 700 hundred meters long, Wenceslas Square represents the most frequent and buzzing crossroads of the city. The National Museum in the upper part of the square watches over your spending spree in countless shops and retail stores lining the entire square, which ends at Na Příkopě, the most famous shopping street. When tired or broke, you can explore the city's underpasses, which can take you to the Old Town or to the courtyards of art nouveau houses with secret gems of greenery, white benches and rose bushes that provide unexpected peace in the midst of the city. Be sure to pay a visit to the traditional cafés, classic Czech pubs, cinemas and theaters. National Theater near the river has a lot to offer to foreigners. Go to the river bank and enjoy live music and drinks while watching a sunset behind Prague Castle.
