My wife and I stayed two nights here on the second stop of our honeymoon tour of Europe. Our suite was enormous (probably more than we needed for such a short stay) and the spires of The Church of Our Lady before Tyn were prominently visible from the bedroom. As first time visitors, the hotel provided great access to Old... More

I was warned about visiting Prague on a weekend and I learned why. This glorious old European city has been discovered and then some. We loved the hotel -- comfy bed, spacious room, good breakfast included -- we even had a little balcony overlooking the Tyn church. But the old town square was a riot of mimes, Segway tours, bubble... More

Hotel was great. If you are booking directly, you are better off. I booked through Expedia and wanted to exchange the last day of my stay for a day before I was to head home and they would not let me. Had I booked directly, I could have changed it. As a result, I lost a night's stay and had... More

I am from Canada and the last thing I want while in Europe is a North American style hotel. I want to feel the history and the people and the culture, not a whitewashed version. This beautiful historic hotel was exactly what I wanted. The room was outstanding, very clean and super comfortable. The location was perfect as it is... More

The hotel has quite big rooms. Some hint of old times is nice, but sometimes it's a bit too much: bath facilities needed some improvement, some furniture was broken. Location is perfect: right behind the Tyn church, 2 minutes walk from the Prague clock. Very central and rather quiet area. Breakfast was disappointing: -not possible to reach the restaurant for... We had a great stay- magical room with a balcony and our own private view of the church spires behind the old town square- breathtaking and a lovely suprise for us arriving in the middle of the night. Everything very clean and only just a very little bit shabby (mainly the carpets in the hall) which for us quite charming... More

From the moment we arrived this hotel was wonderful... The room was just beautiful, breakfast downstairs lovely, & greeted by very friendly staff & dinner in the restaurant in the courtyard was fab. Well done to all the team. Thank you for a most memorable stay :)

We really enjoyed our stay in the Metamorphis. The staff were friendly and efficient. They couldn't have been more helpful and organised taxis to and from the airport for us. The hotel was clean and warm. Our room was huge with plenty of historic touches like a painted ceiling and frescos on the walls. The restaurant where we had breakfast... More

We were fortunate to be given a suite sized room in the "Excellent" wing of this two building hotel. We hadn't booked anything special and were very impressed by what we got for our money. Like many value hotels today Metamorphis isn't high on staffing levels but it provided all we needed - pick up from the airport; help on... More

I've booked for a room in Hotel Metamorphis but was given one in Hotel Metamorphis Excellent instead. That was a pleasant surprise. The room is huge; there's even a living room. Located less than 2 mins walk from Old Town square. You could walk to almost all the attractions (Charles bridge, Petrin Tower, Prague Castle, Palladium Shopping Centre etc.) from... More

Staying in Stare Mesto (Old Town)

Neighborhood Profile
Stare Mesto (Old Town)
One of the oldest neighborhoods in town represents the medieval heart of Prague. It’s no surprise it is bustling with tourists every time of day. Križovnický square, overlooking Charles Bridge with Prague Castle in the background, is probably the most beautiful square in the city. Its unique historical atmosphere of gothic houses and churches, cobblestone streets and squares, and stone towers blend together with the modern era. A vast array of bars, restaurants, dance clubs, international brand shops, galleries and hotels bring life to the old city. With its charming and picturesque cobblestone streets, the nightlife and parties will surely be unforgettable.
