I really like this hotel for the location and quality of the property. The prices are very reasonable and the staff is friendly. There are several very good restaurants right near the hotel, and some excellent ones within a few minutes, including Masne Kramy. The Budweiser (real Budweis beer) is a short taxi ride, or can be reached by bus... More

We spent Easter holiday in this hotel and it was a satisfying experience in general. The room was spacious with all the facilities one might need and charming old style. Service was helpful, prices reasonable. I wasnt very pleased with the breakfast buffet. There was a nice selection of food but not very good quality and coffee was awful. Also,... More

This hotel is low-cost and quite well located for the main square restaurants....but it's stuck in a time warp and has no facilities...no air-con, poor heating, warm 'cold' water, uncomfortable beds, ancient mattresses, pre-ancient duvets, and a pervasive damp smell everywhere.

This Hotel, is really The Best place, in this city... In České Budějovice, there is a many hotels, with different quality of services, but also with different pricing... Was here in last 3years more, than 30x, also can say, that this building is my second home... Not big hotel, but fantastic atmosphere. Excellent staff, ( operating manager - Mrs.Solfronková ),... This is for the Pivnice Budvarka, in the hotel. A local resident of CB told me to go there and he even told me exactly what to order: knedlo (dumpling), zelo (sauerkraut), vepro (pork), and Budvar Krouzek beer (the main reason I went - to taste the original and authentic Budweiser). The food was mediocre at best. The beer was... More

Stopped in this area to visit friends for a couple of days whilst on a 16night Euro road trip. My memory of Maly Pivovar was better than current reality however still it is a fairly safe bet. You can get hotel parking nearby for a fee but this is no longer secure. The internet is useless in the rooms because... More

Spent a night at the Malý Pivovar on a touring holiday of Bohemia. This hotel has so much potential. It is the old Budvar brewery and, as such, is a building of historical interest. Sadly, however, the conversion to an hotel has been imperfectly executed. The towering lobby, whilst initially impressive, would benefit from more seating areas. The consequence is... More

This is a review of the hotel's vaulted beer hall, not the hotel as such. While sightseeing in the Square and roundabout, we enjoyed a snack lunch from a wide-ranging menu including Czech specialities. The Budvar pale lager, though unfortunately not the tank version, was excellent. The staff were friendly and attentive, prices were very reasonable, and the number of... More

Not a review of the hotel, but the restaurant. I had a lovely meal here. Very big portions and great value. Friendly staff, and superb beer. One of the best meals I have enjoyed in the Czech Republic.

Pros: old style hotel which was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Rooms were huge and pretty comfortable. Centrally located. We were there for New Year's Eve which meant we could walk a block to the main square and watch the fireworks. It was quite wild. Most stores and restaurants were closed New Year's day. Cons: breakfast buffet was marginal... More
