The hotel de La Gaichel in Luxembourg just across the Belgian border (near Arlon) and the Auberge de La Gaichel are owned by the same family now the fourth generation of hosts. We visited the hotel, the more luxurious and expensive of the two mentioned for the first time back in the early 1980s and returned a few times till... More

The hotel is lovely- very peaceful with lovely gardens and fresh airy rooms. We had a corner room with balcony and views over the well maintained gardens and golf course. The house is old, and interestingly the main stairs up to the bedroom wing almost feel original- narrow and in need of fresh carpetting. However this is just one small... More

Absolutely everything was perfect at this Hotel de Charme. Our room, number 2 was a suite with views on the park and, yes, the road, too, but we didn't hear the car traffic. Design: Accents in red colors in the bathroom, the bedspread, the pictures, objects... a total delight. Like being in a home. The service was 110%, with smiles... More

We returned for one night's stay after five years. No longer part of the Relais & Chateaux group and it shows. A very surly receptionist. No member of staff on duty throughout the night!! Dinner at the Auberge (main restaurant was closed) was good but breakfast the following morning was a shambles with no effort made whatsoever. We will not... More

Lovely hotel. Lovely spacious room with a nice balcony overlooking the garden. A wonderful meal. Toiletries, bathrobes, slippers, shoe horn, cotton buds, fluffy towels were all provided the only negative a tiny one of not having a full length mirror in our room, but somehow I managed! Breakfast was lovely. It is a truly loved hotel - and it shows.

This is a charming small auberge in the country. It has been managed by a succession of seven generations of women - from mother to daughter to daughter. The building is charming and the grounds are immaculate. Inside, the rooms are both oldfashioned and up to date - an excellent bathroom. In recent years the latest generation of daughters seems... We were travelling to Germany from the UK and wanted to go via Belgium and stop a night in Luxembourg. This is a fantastic hotel in a lovely quiet location, but very easy to find. There is plenty of space for parking, and we were travelling with our dog who was made very welcome. We had D.B&B which I'd recommend... More

We had lunch at the restaurant which is part of Hotel La Gaichel. It is a very tastefully decorated restaurant with exquisite food, great service and romantic atmosphere. We were offered to take our aperitif and later on coffee at the salon/ sitting room, which has a very classy and relaxing feel to it. We took the small 3 course... More

We stayed here for one night as we not want to stay in the city & what a lovely find. The Hotel is set in lovely gardens in a very peaceful location. On walking in it is like stepping back in time but with a very personal touch as the hotel has passed down through generations of women in the family... More

This is one of the most coziest and romantic places Luxembourg has to offer, indeed as you enter the hotel you feel like entering in another world, a world of calm and beautiful small details that defines the richness of this hotel. Every room is different in its decoration, and very luxurious although they are not to big. The entourage... More
