Just spent Fri night at Andrew and Bridget's. Chalk&Cheese is idyllic, funky, querky and one in a million. We were looked after so well. Lovely food, fantastic claw footed bath in gallery room and great atmosphere in the bar. To be recommended.

Stayed here for just the one night and it was fantastic! If you are looking for a quiet, tranquil location where you are unable to receive any phone signal then this is the place. I stayed in the separate cottage which was amazing access to a small kitchen, living room and a very grand bedroom and bathroom! Very quirky and... More

My husband and I stayed for only one night sadly but what a wonderful find this B and B turned out to be. You are made to feel totally at home in this converted village school by the owner. Comfy chairs and sofas to laze on and the most superb collection of "bits and pieces of treasured nonsense" for you... More

We had a very pleasant stay last weekend. Birgitte and Andrew are the owners and they make you feel very welcome. The decor is unusual as Brigitte is an avid collector of things. The rooms and restaurant are in a converted village school, the dining area being in a conservatory. There are plenty of comfortable seats available should you return early... More

Have been several times and always enjoyed the experience. This time took my son and daughter in law, who is gluten free. Andrew had taken the trouble to make a gluten free pizza base in advance so she could enjoy a pizza with the rest of us. I've always found Andrew and his staff thoughtful and helpful. The design is... More

We had friends coming up from Sussex and wanted something different to take them to - well we found it at Chalk and Cheese! What a gem! Lovely welcome, comfortable bar to choose our meals, then into the airy conservatory to eat. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. Will be back!

a little gem of a place hidden away in Shouldham. It is very quirky just like Andrew, the owner/chef!! we have been 3 times in the last 5 weeks - the only downside is we had to find somewhere else to eat out this week as we have exhausted the menu as it is quite limited. Fantastic pizzas made &... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our two night stay and made to feel very welcome. A treasure trove of bits and bobs on every available surface and I am sure each item has a story in keeping with the converted building itself. Had a lovely evening meal and two good breakfasts.
