My husband and I visited the Lapa Rios Ecolodge for three nights January 20, 2015, the last of our three stops in Costa Rica. I have to admit that I had some trepidation, fearing that this would be too rustic for my tastes. Our experience began from the moment that we left our plane and arrived at the lodge office... More

We celebrated our 10 year anniversary at Lapa Rios and thoroughly enjoyed the lodge but we can't say enough about the staff. I managed to slice my foot pretty good while surfing and the employees helped to clean my wound. However, the manager Julieta went way beyond the call of duty and drove me the 45 minutes to Puerto Jimenez... More

Amazing views of the rainforest and ocean from this beautiful hotel, situated in a huge rainforest reserve. The room was spectacular -- I watched a family of spider monkeys and toucans eating from the trees off the deck. The guided tours of the forest are great -- can't possibly count the number of frogs, birds, monkeys, etc. The accommodation is... More

We traveled to Costa Rica as a family in July 2015. We visited three different locations - La Fortuna, Manuel Antonio and the Osa Peninsula. Fortunately, we visited Lapa Rios last - because nothing would be able to compare after staying at such a wonderful place with an incredible staff. You may be like me - unsure of traveling to... This was the second part of our two country trip to Costa Rica and Guatemala - with the aim of seeing monkeys and wildlife from the country this exquisite resort most definitely ticked our boxes. When greeted from the airport (one runway, small plane etc. :) with coconuts filled with there juice and on the drive back seeing 2 of... More

This was an exceptional place to stay. Away from all of the bustle of 21st century life, it was so easy to immerse ourselves in nature and all that can be seen in in the primary and secondary forest as well as by the ocean - a marvellous combination. The guides were outstandingly good, the lodge staff attentive and knowledgeable... More

We had a completely wonderful time at the Lapa Rios Lodge. The Service by the staff was outstanding in every way. From the time you arrive to the time you leave leave your treated like king and queens. It was awesome from the views you have in your rooms overlooking the Gulf and the Pacific. Seeing a sloth in the... More

My wife and I spent a week here with the objective of seeing some 'real' Costa Rican rainforest and wildlife in their natural environment (without fully knowing what exactly this meant). We were not disappointed. The wildlife we saw on the guided walks through Lapa Rios nature reserve - as well as viewed from the private deck of our bungalow... More

Dear Zachary, greetings from the Lapa Rios Rainforest and the Osa Peninsula. Thank you for your wonderful review. I think it makes it very clear for future guests that the Lapa Rios experience is about wildlife and the interpretation that our nature guides can provide every day. That is probably why we were selected to be one of very few... More

It was an adventure just to get to Lapa Rios; after the 12-seater-plane journey (greeted at the wonderfully desolate, tropical landing strip by Lapas staff with drinks) and a 30 minute, bone-rattling 4x4 to the resort, I already felt miles away from the hustle and bustle of the real world. The arrival was extra special with 'happy birthday' greetings and,... More
