Go to Tamarind at your own risk. My husband and I were infected with the arborvirus, Chikungunya. We both suffered from fever and joint pain which lasted two weeks. The hotel was quite shabby and needs refurbishing. The food was mediocre. The staff, however, was friendly.

We stayed at Tamarind Beach Hotel for 3 nights of our honeymoon in St Vincent and the Grenadines. From the very beginning we were treated really well - all the staff knew our names and that we were on honeymoon, and nothing was too much trouble. The room overlooked the beach and was beautifully presented, with fresh flowers every evening.... More

I am longing to return to Canouan. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was able to relax, get a bit of work done. I really enjoyed myself and my hubby did too. Worst art of the trip was the fresh (rude) fishies that try to swim under your suit, lol Make sure you get a spa service from Njeri!... More

If you would like to see some pics of Tamarind Beach from 2008 search YouTube for Canouan beach holiday. Charming rooms on the beach of this beautiful little Caribbean Island. Great sailing location. Lovely beaches, quiet and peaceful.

Charming hotel set on approx. 3 acres of land. This is an older style hotel but has all the modern conveniences. The bar and restaurant staff are great and if you are looking for some quiet beach time with your significant other I would highly recommend.

I like to find a small island no one has ever heard of and stay for a week of bliss. I nearly got what I wanted on this trip. The Island of Canouan (say Can-uh-wan) is remote, one of 30-something islands in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. It's 3 miles long and one and a half mile wide. There are... More

Getting There 1 hour travelling time with SVG airlines from Barbados to Union island then Canouan. Small airport with a traditional island feel. As you need to fly in from a larger island such as Barbados on a smaller aircraft there are not many passengers alighting. We had the arrivals hall pretty much to ourselves.  We were picked up at... The Tamarind's rooms are on two floors & all overlook the sea. We spent three nights here at the end of a yacht charter. The bedrooms are not vast but are comfortable & well fitted out. We liked the fact that the doors facing the sea all had louvres & mosquito nets. The room also had a/c as well as ceiling... More

My friends recently did a two centre holiday to the Colony Club in Barbados and the Tamarind yacht Club on Canouan in the Grenadines. They could not praise the Tamarind enough. It was in an idylic location, the staff were so friendly and attentive, the food was out of this world. Its a real get away from it all, pamper yourself holiday.

Yup, the hotel is a little dated, the rooms could do with some tlc however there are many other places in the caribbean you can go for swish modern & no soul. This hotel is on a marvellous beach(great for swimming) & yacht watching, the food is good with a choice of 2 restaurants & as previously mentioned an outstanding... More
