About an hour's drive from Fairbanks - beautiful countryside all the way. Large layout with cabins for overnighters. The actual hot springs...is a bit commercial. Has a large section for changing & showering, 2 indoor pools - one large & quite like most indoor pools, & one jacuzzi-sized. 2 or 3 jacuzzi-sized pools outside that are smaller & more private,... I have to say I was worried given some of the past reviews but we had a great time. We saw the Arora borialis. ...went snowmachining....had so much fun. The restaurant was okay...food okay but people very nice. We stayed in the newer lodge. It is not a "resort" but perfect for the Alaskan adventure we were experiencing.....definitely try the... Beautiful resort miles away from civilization. Ice museum, hot springs, a ride up the mountain to sit by the yurt and watch the northern lights. Privately sourced electric, meat, produce, and the best darn menu anywhere. What an absolute gem if you wish to spend Christmas in an absolutely pristine place.

I did not stay at the 'resort' as a guest. However, we spent our time at the hot springs and had dinner at the restaurant. The vegetables were the best I had in Alaska. I was impressed and pleased to learn that they have their own greenhouse onsite and grow much of the produce they use. I was worried about... More

The room was atrocious, the water not surprisingly stank being from the spring. (Didn't really mind this, kind of what I expected) This would be a great place for a retreat, no cell coverage, no internet, 3 channels on the tube. (For which the remote didn't work & there was no phone in the room to call the front desk... More

We loved our stay. The hot spring is amazing, the dogsled ride was incredible, the ice palace was very interesting but the Aurora was breathtaking. I would go just for the Aurora. Going up to the mountain top each night waiting for the Aurora was the best time. Hot Chocolate sitting around a hot stove with friends was a memory... More

It has resort style prices without the facilities. The hot springs are a farcical attempt at creating a tourist destination. The TV didn't work, no WIFI or phone reception and the heating/cooling was broken. We paid the extra $$$ to be in the new lodge which unfortunately has the interior fittings and fixtures stripped straight from Noahs Arc! Very dated... More

Pluses: 1. Try the clam chowder. It is the best I have ever had! (although avoid the large, which can feed a family of six and is poorly presented----like a plate of lard). 2. The outdoor hot springs---lovely. 3. Seeing the aurora from the hot springs at night, with all the revelers ooohing and ahhing together. 4. The ice museum.... More

People this is not worth the drive from Fairbanks. The price to get into the Springs is $15 each plus towel hire of $5. Suggest you keep the towel cause that is what they are worth to buy. There are signs everywhere telling people to keep quiet and enjoy the experience however this is not policed. We enjoyed a group... More

In short - an amazing / relaxing time in the hot springs, beautiful property at the end of the road (presumably great aurora viewing), quality / adequate accommodations (Moose Lodge) and friendly staff. Definitely worth a trip out there. We stayed just one night (in December) in the Moose Lodge (newer section) and found the room to be of decent... More
