Pluses: 1. Try the clam chowder. It is the best I have ever had! (although avoid the large, which can feed a family of six and is poorly presented----like a plate of lard). 2. The outdoor hot springs---lovely. 3. Seeing the aurora from the hot springs at night, with all the revelers ooohing and ahhing together. 4. The ice museum.... More

People this is not worth the drive from Fairbanks. The price to get into the Springs is $15 each plus towel hire of $5. Suggest you keep the towel cause that is what they are worth to buy. There are signs everywhere telling people to keep quiet and enjoy the experience however this is not policed. We enjoyed a group... More

In short - an amazing / relaxing time in the hot springs, beautiful property at the end of the road (presumably great aurora viewing), quality / adequate accommodations (Moose Lodge) and friendly staff. Definitely worth a trip out there. We stayed just one night (in December) in the Moose Lodge (newer section) and found the room to be of decent... More

We stayed 3 nights at the Chena Resort in March 2015 to see the Northern Light. We organised shuttle pick up from the train station. Our train was 30 minutes late, but the driver was very friendly, and chatted to us while we wait for the luggage to be offloaded. On the drive to Chena Resort (by the way, the... More

This place was interesting, the outdoor hot spring was something special but they do not allow kids in and they could have done more with it. The indoor pool was chilly and not nice at all, the water was so cloudy that you could not see at all. It was a pity they didn't have something nicer that the kids... More

We stayed in Fairbanks, but we went to Chena Hot Springs to do some of their activities, which is perfectly fine with them. The view during the drive from Fairbanks was spectacular, and the traffic was very light, so we were able to pull to the side of the road for photo ops! We saw the ice museum, then went... More

The hot springs were so relaxing I was questioning how I was going to be able to drive later. The set up was surreal, like something out of a movie. It would be a great place for couples. The view of the Aurora on the drive back to our yurt was amazing.

We booked through a travel company so I must admit I did not do my normal "due diligence" when searching for lodging. Our rooms were not ready upon our arrival so we directed to the activities building so we could plan our excursions during our stay. We stayed in the Moose Lodge which is one of the newer buildings and... More

The end of the road - but exactly what I wanted..! Remember to take all the relevant clothing for extreme cold weather..! Including boots to manage -45 degrees, Marino wool socks and long johns, salapets and a good coat. Excellent activities: The northern lights trip up the mountain with extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff was fantastic..! Remember to take a... More

We asked to see the rooms. The normal rooms had the smell of piss so we opted for the rooms in the Moose Lodge. There was a trip for $75 per person to the mountain top for seeing the aurora. We were told that we would be given warm parkas and boots when we booked. The guy who took us... More
