Well, we stayed over Valentines as well and have no complaints. The room in Moose Lodge was comfortable, the radiant floors divine. This resort Is built around the hot springs so of course the water smells and the sinks are stained. That's what sulfur does, you know. Now, we went to see the Northern Lights, not to watch TV or... This place is about 60 miles away from the light pollution of Fairbanks. It's a great place to see the Aurora Borealis. We stayed in the standard (not the newer lodge) rooms. The standard rooms leave a lot to be desired. I would guess the plumbing to be from the 60's or 70's. Our first room had a harvest gold... More

Moose lodge was blah. Reminded of military dorms. Tv had 8 channels. Bed made my back hurt. Shower was dirty. curtains were dirty and stained and the water stank. Felt more dirty longer I was in the shower. No cell signal. No wifi. No public computor. Resturant was ok. Nothing special. Decor seemed Mitch marched. Server was nice and let... More

We wanted to see the northern lights and the best place far away from the city lights of Fairbanks was Chena Hot Springs Resort. Knowing that it is Alaska and a remote location, we did not have high expectations. Still, being a resort, it should still be decent. We stayed in the Moose Lodge, which has been or is going... We stayed there in Sept. 2014 We found the hot springs to be thoroughly enjoyable The cost of a room was very, very high for what you get. Next time I will just do the day pass instead of the room. Restaurant was good but again pricey

We spent 3 days here in mid-December. It was cold, but we were fine outside with appropriate clothing. We saw wonderful auror displays two nights. We took the tour up the mountain one night, but it was quite crowded with Japanese tourists, although the view was grand. The next night we walked up the hill to the warming cabin above... More

A group of friends stayed here to properly enjoy the hot springs in winter time. Due to the fact that Chena is MILES away from anywhere this is the only lodging, and my review is ONLY about hotel, not the resort as a whole. The hotel is typical Alaskan, meaning it's run-down, the staff aren't exactly friendly (in standard Alaskan... More

I was hoping they'd make changes but judging by reviews it hasn't happened. After all of the following I was charged more $ and it took a week to return. Here's my experience. Upon trying to make reservations I was greeted over the phone by unfriendly staff. It took a few days to lock on a reservation finally and this... More

The best part was celebrating new years with ppl that was staying in the pace and the staff. We had champagne, live music and good company with friends and other guests. If you walk up to the hill behind the place (10-15 minutes) it is a perfect place to watch the northern lights. They have a cabin acconditioned with heater... More

We went to Chena Hot Springs Resort to see the Northern Lights as we had heard that this was a great place to see the Lights as well as enjoy the 'resort' and its facilities. Our room was similar to what you would expect on a school camp, it was old, there was no individual heating in the room and... More
