4 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW

Went with my partner for 2 nights and met with friends of ours already there.Room was basic but clean, food was nice, entertainment was good and the Bluecoats did a wonderful job.I would certainly return to this resort.Only thing i could fault was serving lager in beer glasses which to me is a big Nono.

Well I wonder where those 1star & 2star reviewers went? Not the Pontins Sand Bay I went to. I went for a week, I had a great time along with over 40 others from our club, (Recycled Teenagers Club). When I first read some of the reviews I almost cancelled, so glad I didn't. Yes the water was very hot,just... More

Having stayed at Sand Bay when run by the previous owners we were looking forward to our short break in Weston, now wish we had stayed at home. although the sleeping accommodation was clean and comfortable the shower cubicle was a disgrace with thick mould on a lot of the grouting and tiles, not very hygienic. Food was not to... More

Rooms very basic, in need of a tidy up. However rooms clean tidy. Clean sheets towels. Food basic but enjoyable . Entertainment good. Blue coats work hard to involve people and get a party atmosphere. Swimming pool again in need of tlc but was ok for a swim. Lifeguards helpful and friendly. Bar staff, dining staff, bluecoats. All very helpful,... More

The staff were leaving almost as quickly as the guests. The bar closed in the afternoon whilst cabaret was on because there were no staff to keep it open. The chalet 251 smelt of damp, the shower/toilet was disgusting with filthy black grouting on the tiles. It is probably the worst place I have ever been to, we didn't stay... More

This was our second visit . We are all old ex Butlins redcoats and last year had a ball. Some of our chalets were a disgrace with black mould in the showers and electrics that kept blowing . The pool was ok apart from closing at 5:00 , the gym has been ripped out and junk stored in there. The... More

This was our first visit since Pontins have taken over the Sand bay leisure resort, there have been some changes, It is now fully adult only, rooms not attended during our friday to monday break (no clean towels, or bins emptied), the dining room is now fully self-service, but food still very good, entertainment has changed (not worse or better,... Do you enjoy endless queues for sub-standard food, shabby chalets with cracked tiles, the general atmosphere of a building site with few of the amenities offered? Then this is the place for you. The place should have been closed and refurbished rather than run as a going concern. I didn't speak to one person who said they would go back... More

I went here to celebrate my 60th birthday and anniversary next day. When we arrived at the rundown reception. We got our room keys had two rooms as we took family to help us celebrate the big milestone birthday. Walking to our Classic Club Double top of the range according to the internet page. It was more like Hitchcock's Bates... More

Stayed at Sand Bay from 16th to 20th June 2014 and 23rd to 27th June 2014 . Worst fortnight of my life. Do not be fooled by the glossy pictures as these do not reflect the real Sand Bay. Hot food not up to the temperature for eating, as it was barely warm, dirty dishes and plates, staff not much... More
